Core Rules Alternative Cover Gift Set

Meh. I'd only buy them a second time, new covers or not, if they were digest sized and softcover. Would make my life so much easier.

D&D 5E (2014) How has your DM handled death before and after the party getting the spell Revivify?

I have a few houserules involving HP and death saving throws and stuff; however, to the question: I always enforce material components! If the player who has revivify, or the characters as a whole, don't have diamonds, well, they're screwed.

I hate death saves. Propose your solution.

For my group, I do things a little differently: 1. HP doesn't recover on a long rest. You have to spend hit dice to regain HP, or use spells/potions/magic items. After the long rest, you get back half your remaining hit dice. 2. Failed death saves don't reset until you take a long rest. I...

What's This Mysterious D&D Book? [UPDATED!]

The only thing that would get me to buy a second copy of the PHB is if it were digest sized, in softcover. Same for Monster Manual and DMG; I'd buy them in a heartbeat if they were smaller and lighter.

D&D 5E (2014) Hang Time - What if you jump farther than your speed?

I play it out differently at my table; your jumping uses your movement, but in order for things like the Jump spell or the boots to actually be useful, I make it so you can move your distance, jump, and if you exceed your movement speed, you finish your full jump and that's the end of your...

    Everybody Cheats?

I'd actually love to get a d20 that's weighted to more likely roll a 1. Just for one player who, no matter what dice he uses, has obscene luck. Its crazy. We even have a dice tray that we roll on, and he's straight up rolling it, no sleight of hand involved. I just want to see what would happen...

    UA: Giant Soul Sorcerer

It's so silly, but I love it. You can become Gargantuan for a little while at 18th level. Enlarge makes you Large, the 14th level feature x1 makes you Huge, and x2 makes you Gargantuan. I want to do it just for that reason alone.

D&D 5E (2014) A question for the 5e Experts about the Monk class

Oh, lord. Yes, you'd easily be the most broken character in the group. However, that being said, out of all the monk archetypes, Way of the Four Elements is the weakest; by no means is it underpowered, per se, but it's not got the same oomph of the other subclasses. I believe someone on reddit...

What makes Great Weapon Master and Sharpshooter so good?

I banned both because my players complained at how OP they were when the Fighter was using them in a campaign.

Format of Books, Ease of use?

The only complaint I have is that I'd love a set of soft-cover digest versions, to make transporting easier. I run my game at a FLGS not quite an hour away, so transporting all these books becomes very difficult. And heavy. I've been considering making my own, but that costs an arm and a leg in...

WotC RECALLS Mordenkainen Tome of Foes (special edition only)

This is why I would buy a whole set of books a second time if they were soft cover digest sized; like, 6" x 8" or something like that.

DM advice: How do you NOT kill your party?

What steps do I take to keep the party alive? I don't take any. I put monsters and give those monsters abilities where and when it makes sense based on the story. If they steamroll an encounter, more power to them! They should feel happy that they were badass! If, however, they go into a fight...

    Why I dislike Milestone XP

My players and I have done both; to a player, they prefer regular XP. I'm a little bit odd as a DM, though, in that I'll give XP for different quest completions, along with killing monsters, and there's a lot of different quests and side-quests for the players to explore.

News Digest: More D&D Campaign Setting Clues, Pathfinder 2nd Ed Announcements and a Live Stream, War

Wow. $50 for a hardcover playtest book. I am...not thrilled. I'd have preferred a cheaper softcover; hell, a spiral-bound from Staples would be preferable to paying $50 for a hardcover of a book who's contents are not even finalized.

Should I share my game world with you folks?

You could, yes! But you have to do so in a careful way; don't give away the homeworld (I've always wanted to say that). Its important to make it clear what makes your setting different and unique, and its up to you to make it that way while still being playable (that is, if you plan to publish...

Share it, unless you plan on publishing it. Otherwise, don't share it.

Botfly swarms. No jungle adventure is complete without botfly swarms.
