D&D Wargaming-- Good vs Evil [Waiting List Recruitment]

What rules changes would you propose? I've noticed the following problems: 1. Circumventing the CR caps by buying numerous extremely low-CR creatures (like hundreds of rats) for nearly no points. Most of them aren't so much part of the army as a group that sits around "supporting" the leaders...

Gestalt 13th Level "Terror and Blasphemy"

[Grrr, I typed a couple of paragraphs reply and my browser crashed] I'm planning to play as more of a compassionate paladin than a righteous one. He holds himself to higher standards than everyone else (though he still doesn't tolerate evil to go unpunished. Not all punishments are violent...

    Ether Mist

I'm not sure I see what you're trying to do. If it's a gaseous creature, having a strength of 28 and 30 natural armor doesn't make sense to me. It sounds more like an Ooze [Extraplanar] than an Outsider, to me. Maybe even something incorporeal that does physical [force] attacks. Mechanically...

    San Diego

I've got a group of 20-25 year olds who game in South Orange County (between 45 minutes and an hour north of Genesee) on an irregular basis, but another member of the group might spur us to play more often. None of us is gay, but we are all gay friendly (and all friends aside from gaming). Don't...

D&D Wargaming-- Good vs Evil [Waiting List Recruitment]

It's possible that he went on spring break and just didn't tell anybody. I say we give it a few more days before we swipe it from under him.

D&D Wargaming-- Good vs Evil [Waiting List Recruitment]

Is this game over? If so, I'm disappointed big time, it was really fun...

Gestalt 13th Level "Terror and Blasphemy"

No immediate berzerking. From what's happened so far, your character doesn't seem to be the nicest or most scrupulous person, which could be a point of contention (IC). The Hunter of the Dead is willing to say that not all undead are bad, but the Paladin still has to be a Paladin. =] Should I...

A different kind of arcane trickster

Anyspell definitely doesn't count as Arcane spellcasting, though. It's a divine spell, and the slot doesn't count as an arcane spell (unless there is text somewhere that I'm not seeing). It's probably not legal to count a level 2 assassin spell as level 3, either, though. 5 levels of Assassin...

A different kind of arcane trickster

True, but it might not be pointless to do something like Bard 1/Cleric 4/Assassin 3 (Assassin 3 is enough due to the sneak attack and Illusory Script is "at least one 3rd level spell", even though Assassins can get it as a level 2 spell. If you don't think that counts, you'd have to go to level...

Gestalt 13th Level "Terror and Blasphemy"

That's okay with me. I think it gives the potion exception because it's a bit silly when you're conscious to make your friend pour it in your mouth instead of just grabbing it yourself. I don't mind that interpretation, though, it sounds fair enough to me.

Gestalt 13th Level "Terror and Blasphemy"

No problem. I'm in the middle of rolling up a Sorceror 13/Paladin 5-Hunter of the Dead 8 with a Vow of Poverty. What do you think, guys? EDIT: Finished him up. Go ahead and take a look.

Gestalt 13th Level "Terror and Blasphemy"

I think I posted way back at the beginning of this affair to see if there was still space, and there apparenty wasn't. I'd still love to jump in on this, though. I could probably roll something up today if things move that quickly (and assuming your list of alternates isn't already established).

Stacking fire and ice magical effects for weapons.

That's a good point, but if the wizard who crafted the flaming, frost longsword knew that it required a "command word" action to activate, wouldn't he probably make a single command activate the entire item instead of just one ability? i.e. make it one "flaming, frost" ability that adds all the...

Polymorph any object and swallowed whole-what happens?

I'd rule that all stomach contents are regurgitated as the centipede shrinks down. At the very least, all magic items would be. The body is likely toast, but nothing a Ressurection of True Ressurection wouldn't fix (and he is too mangled for Raise Dead anyways.)

KidCthulhu's Scarred Lands Needs YOU! (Unless you're in the group. You stay out!)

After reading and playing Dark Sun many years ago in 2E, I can't get enough of maliciously evil bards. If you're not familiar, Bards in DS weren't known as jovial storytellers and performers, but were more like elite assassins and poison masters. In that vein, build him as some sort of...

    Grappling a ghost...

What about a Bigby's Grasping/Crushing Hand? Force effects explicitly ignore the advantages of incorporeality, I believe those (at least) should be sufficient. The only thing I'd have to debate is whether the effective grapple check is with a 0 strength modifier, a -5 strength modifier, or...

    D&D Wargaming *ARMIES OF GOOD*

Since everyone else seems to enjoy this, I think I'll try my hand at making my own celestial. Good vs Evil: D&D Wargaming

I'm wondering what's going on right now... no rush in particular, just kind of a general update on the information our scouts and infrastructure is returning. Most of us have been using scrying-type magic to find out about the enemy as intelligently as possible (and our characters know more...
