    Shapechange - Too powerful?

I agree that Shapechange is too powerful. For one, the spell lasts for most (if not all) of the adventuring day. While Shapechange is up, you have the possibility of near-perfect defense (usually also still allowing spellcasting), versatile offense, or all kinds of utility in-between. Just for...

    Oathbound : Homecoming (full up)

At level 7, I won't have any rogue levels yet. And my concept is more of the dextrous "troubleshooter" than a fully capable rogue. And being a lycanthrope, you know I'm at least somewhat a fighter-type. So if you like, you can take the charismatic and intelligence-based skills, and I'll take the...

    Oathbound : Homecoming (full up)

I would love to play in this, if I can grab a spot. I have a billion and one character concepts, so I'll try and narrow them down for you. The one I've been obsessing about lately is the Were-Dire Bat (Human)/Rogue type. If that's no good, than I can go with another one, of course. *grin*

    [Planescape] Adventures for 7th-level characters?

I ran The Deva Spark for my players a while back, and I think it was good for their group of around 7th level. It's not big on combat, in any case. The only problem I had was that Bebeliths got boosted since 2E, and there is one as a central figure in the adventure. Either way, it's a great module.

    What is fresh in fantasy?

Nobody has mentioned the Legend of the Fire Rings story series that is available on the web, Rokugan 2000. The (now, not then) story director, Rich Wulf wrote a 25-some-odd chapter epic, that was never finished. It takes place in the same Rokugan that exists in the RPG and card game, but in the...

    D&D Wargaming *ARMIES OF GOOD*

More than fair. I'll probably end up spending a good deal of my funds on the ship, to make it more tactically effective. Carting an army all over the place is nice, but it's no use if they can't get off to fight!

How mean are you to your clerics???

I also recall that light shields let you hold something in your hand while using it. You can't _use_ the thing in hand to do anything, but you can hold a torch there, or hold a weapon momentarily while you cast a spell with the other hand. In other words, it's not quite as unrestrictive as a...

    D&D Wargaming *ARMIES OF GOOD*

I was under the impression that we needed both a number of points spent on baseline units at least equal to the unsupported ones, AND at the number of baseline units has to meet or exceed the points spend on unsupported ones (i.e. it requires 225 points AND 225 individual units of any cost to...

    D&D Wargaming *ARMIES OF GOOD*

I think it would be a little weird if the Heavenly Host had a regular old kingdom of supporters to keep it going, so I thought the fortification would be better served in a different format. Assuming it's kosher (I looked through my copy of the Stronghold Builder's Guidebook), I'd like my...

D&D Wargaming-- Good vs Evil [Waiting List Recruitment]

Now that I've (mostly) statted up my army, I've got a couple more fine point clarifications: 1. Gear for monsters: It's clear that leveled characters are built with CR that explicitly contains a certain amount of equipment. Do monstrous troops without class levels get any equipment as part of...

    D&D Wargaming *ARMIES OF GOOD*

    The Heavenly Host: Leonal (Guardinal) "Axorius": CR 15 ==> 225 (above baseline) 3x Bralani (Eladrin): CR 8 = 64 x 3 ==> 192 (cascading support: 0 CR, 3 units) 48x Lantern Archons (Archons) CR 2.5 = 6.25 x 48 ==> 300 (direct support, 300 CR, 48 units [51 total]) 64x Human Ftr1 Infantry (level...

D&D Wargaming-- Good vs Evil [Waiting List Recruitment]

(from 3.5srd.com) Aasimar characters possess the following racial traits. — +2 Wisdom, +2 Charisma. —Medium size. —An aasimar’s base land speed is 30 feet. —Darkvision: Aasimars can see in the dark up to 60 feet. —Racial Skills: Aasimars have a +2 racial bonus on Spot and Listen checks...

D&D Wargaming-- Good vs Evil [Waiting List Recruitment]

Aasimar are human[oid]s who have celestial blood in their distant past, and currently just hold a small trace of it. It's normally an ECL+1 race, under the Planetouched entry (similar rules-wise to Drow) in the MM. By the UK system though, they are lower CR than the Dwarf War1's in the MM...

    D&D Wargaming *ARMIES OF GOOD*

I'm going to play the Heavenly Host. 48 (give or take) Lantern Archons, CR 2.5 175 or so Aasimar troops (War1 to Clr3 and Pal5 or so), CRs vary 3 Bralani (Eladrin), CR 8 each and 1 Leonal (Guardinal) Me, the commander, CR 15 EDIT: I'll use a human and elf mix, since Aasimar are going to be too...

D&D Wargaming-- Good vs Evil [Waiting List Recruitment]

I'm looking at the CR determination stuff for PC races now, and I'm a little confused. Each PC race has a CR modifier (usually pretty low, but Dwarves and Halflings are pretty serious) built in, which is apparently independent of the CR for any class. Nobody that I've seen has factored these in...

D&D Wargaming-- Good vs Evil [Waiting List Recruitment]

I'm gonna move away from the Greek Myth army, I don't think it's got the right feel for this type of thing. Instead I'll throw in my hat with the Armies of Good.

D&D Wargaming-- Good vs Evil [Waiting List Recruitment]

3.5 for me also, especially considering the much improved treatment of non-PHB races. I'd also suggest that you (Fleari) look at some of the miniatures' handbook stuff before you use it. A lot of it is pretty powerful compared to the core books, especially in this context.

Gestalt 13th Level "Terror and Blasphemy"

I skimmed over the thread and wasn't clear on if you had an eighth player for the game. If you don't, I'd love to be it. My first idea is a Lycanthrope (Were-Dire Bat) Rogue/Fighter.
