    Ways to Counter Death Ward

The OP made no mention of CL 20: the CL 20 was a reference to the short Duration, and was spurious... Furthemore: See that "+" sign in my post? It isn't just a coincidence.

    Ways to Counter Death Ward

Death ward lasts an amazing 20 minutes at CL 20.... not too impressive. Running away sounds like a very effective policy. As a vampire, you suck up to all the 5th level+ clerics in town... ;-) A few targetted and area Dispel Magic's wrok wonders.

Good Base Creatures for medium to huge humanoid skeletons?

Actually, weak skeletons are good for obsorbing the PC's turning attempts, when portioned out in small doses in the beginning. This lures the players into wasting those precious turning attempts. Even better if the player has Divine feats they like to use. Then suddenly they are facing a horde...

    Greedy Players? No Roleplaying?

Well, I write up a list of story rewards pertinent to each PC and their background. So for the guy playing an ex-slave, ex-pirate captain on the run, I make list of pirate related XP rewards that his character will recieve if he achieves any of those things, and add in a few more for good...

    D&D 3.x 3.5 improved familiar rules

Is it fair for everyone at the table? Is it fun? Is it just blatant power gaming? Seriously, these problems can be resolved by open and honest dialogue. At the gaming table.

    Swift Hunter vs Fortification

Except DND is and has always meant to be a team effort, not just something for a single rogue to handle alone. Therefore the suggestions for other solutions involving spellcasting. My suggestion would be, to those playing in those Hi-stake games where fortification becomes a neccessity to...

    Killing Deities

Anything that happens in the game, happens because the DM allows it to. Thus stating that Gods are only killed because the DM allows it to is just restating the obvious. The real question; is it fun? Does it make for a good game? Did the players enjoy themselves? Did it make sense in the...

    Learning a language

About a year to make yourself resonably understood, and understand most simple conversations. Call it 12 months +/- 1 per Intelligence point above or below 12. Of course stringing together a series of simple noun-verb constructs is easier, and may get suffice to get a simple basic message...

Questions Regarding Teleport spells and effects

Bah humbug. What a terrible answer; not very adventurous is it? So what, the spell fails? That just absolutely sucks! Far more interesting to get a side adventure out of the mishap instead! Trapped on the Astral plane, hell, even being shunted out into the nearest unaffected space is more...

    Swift Hunter vs Fortification

Except every armour is not immune to disintegrate, nor a targetted dispel magic, nor mordenkainen's disjunction, nor other methods of dealing damage to the wearer...

    Swift Hunter vs Fortification

I'd just ban the Swift Hunter. This kind of crap just really ticks me off. Sort of like Super hot fire damage that penetrates Energy Resistance (Fire), or even Immunity to Fire Damage. Then you can invent a supplement selling Super Energy Resistance, that guarantees protection from Super...

    Trapfinding is an Anti-Ability

I also allow anyone to search for traps, but no one except the rogue is willing to spend the skills points to both Search and Disable Device.

Does an extraordinary ability that duplicates a feat count as one?

Officially the word is "no", but... I know I wouldn't have a problem allowing it.

D&D 3.x 3.5 PVP Big Battle Going on soon! Need help! :)

I'm actually really surprised you survived. The FB is such an obvious choice in such a game, and its archilles heel is well known. Were the encounters one-on-one or were they against multiple opponents? It sounds like they were vs a single opponent each time.

    Alignment shift for intra-party murder?

@ManInFunnyHat. I disagree with your premise that actions do not have alignment. IMC, I have defined certain actions as Evil. There maybe, however, mitigating factors (Intent, previous experience, personal capacity) which affect how your action is perceived by the Multiverse. Furthermore...

    Alignment shift for intra-party murder?

I'd disagree with this, as it is dependant on player expectation. If the players are able to handle it, it doesn't detract from the game at all. As long as all players actually have roughly the amount of wealth expected for their level, how the treasure is accumulated is actually just part of...

    Alignment shift for intra-party murder?

Why does it matter that the murder was inter-party?

    Silent Image of a Fireball

Actually, this trick might come in handy when trying to convince a third party a distant observer, for example), that the caster slew the "victims" / had access to fireball, provided the targets put on an apropriate show... But otherwise, no, no advantage vs the target. At most a lost move...

    Protection vs. Dispelling Spells

Not certain, but I seem to recall that if you were a shadow weave spell caster (also from the FRCS), that your spells were harder to discern, and dispel.
