    Just some clarification is needed

Short, not entirely helpful comment: Get a grip. And a dictionary. Longer, much more helpful comment: There are plenty of threads dealing with inexperienced DMing, alignment issues, metagaming, disruptive players, in fact just about everything you could ever imagine. And a good few more. Have...

How do you like your halflings best?

Sounds like children to me. I like Halflings (or Runtlings, Pecks, Stunties, Ratlings, etc.....) but prefer them short, round, hairy and pleasure fixated - pretty much a la JRRT. IMC Halflings are found pretty much everywhere and are among the best hosts and the best cooks. They make good...

List all of your character names! *read the instructions*

Let's see, the 'good' ones I can remember... Rick "Danger" Mann, Gangrel Akai Moya (Red Mist) aka. Moya-no-Nikku (Mist of Meat), human, male (Bushi - Bushido) Tsukai-tsukusu Samazama (Exhaust Manifold - very loose translation), human, male (Gakusho - Bushido) Araldite son of Armalite, Human...

D&D 4E Star Wars Saga Edition as preview of 4e?

So, take out AoOs and add a Zone of Control around characters & monsters. Small & Medium get a 5' ZoC, Large 10' and so on. Any critter entering a ZoC must stop. Doesn't address trips, etc., but does eliminate critters running past with impunity.

    Why do you read OotS?

They are all valid answers but if it wasn't funny (laugh out loud in the office funny) I probably wouldn't bother.

Oiled and waiting in the catapult basket.

DM's: Do you have one player in your group you'd like to give the boot?

Hmm. Ever booted a player? Nope. Some have drifted away, some have moved away but we've never sacked one. On the other hand, while most of us have gamed together for 25+ years, I can't honestly admit to liking all of them. One or two I do not freely associate with away from the table and all...

    Dire Boars loose in Alabama

Did they track back to its lair, kill its mate and young then moan about the lack of treasure? No? Then he's not a PC.

Too much incentive to stay dead

IMC replacements for dead PCs come in at -1 level (with a minimum of party average -1, so unlucky players don't keep losing levels until they become no more than camp followers). Same for new characters by choice. I give full kit with 100% player choice. Levels are lost from...

DM Burnout or DM Frustration With His Players?

I'm with SiderisAnon. Players generally do as little beyond turning up as they can. Some don't even manage that.

What percentage of your RPG time are you DMing?

Probably averages around 50%, though a couple of years ago I think I DMd about 15 sessions before someone else took over. At the moment, we have 3 active DMs - 2 of us run on the days when most players can make it, the other runs WLD on 'off' weeks. Several have run games in the past but are...

How to overcome DR in a world w/out magic weapons?

Don't see anything wrong with some gribblies being hard to damage. Leave the DRs as they are but make sure they are legendary for being difficult to damage. As already said, there are plenty of ways to get around DR without magic weapons.

The problem with elves (question posed)

If you don't want your players to be Elves why not just say 'no Elves'? Seems to me a lot of effort just to say no.

A Campaign With No House Rules

I don't think I have ever played a game with NO houserules (including White Box). That said I don't think there would be much of a problem with RAW provided everyone understood from the outset that there would be no deviations and agreed with it. Can't see it lasting for long without someone...

That's one way to build a world...

That is a really good idea. I wish I had thought of it. All I did for my world was to trace Europe from an atlas, muck about with the coastline to simulate sea-level rising and nuclear holocaust. For background I took Moorcock's Hawkmoon series and moved it on to a time where all the technology...

How do you cope with only 4 characters in a party?

My current group is DM + 8 PCs & 2 Cohorts and yes it is sometimes difficult to get us all together but is ultimately worth the trouble. That said, my favourite gaming of recent years has been DM + 2 PCs & 2 NPCs and DM + 3 Gestalt. More players = more flexibility, slower games. Fewer players...
