D&D General Cthulhu by Torchlight Brings Mythos To D&D

IMO, the intent is that it autofails when it is in its cloud mist form. No LR.

D&D General Cthulhu by Torchlight Brings Mythos To D&D

Absolutely, I even mentioned that in my post. My point is the OP implies, in my mind that this product is the first time the Cthulhu Mythos has come to 5e. That is clearly not the case.

D&D General Cthulhu by Torchlight Brings Mythos To D&D

The classes tab (wherever that is from) is still segregated with official material at the top and 3PP below. Featured sources, is the front page and is constantly changing. I personally never use it unless I am referencing a core book. The actual sources tab, where I go when I want a specific...

D&D General How Do I Help Mentor a GM Making Rookie Mistakes?

Agreed, it is easy to make 5e more challenging and/or "gritty" regardless which version you play.

D&D General Cthulhu by Torchlight Brings Mythos To D&D

I need to go back an look at that book again. I remember liking how it handled the big bads of the mythos, but not the specifics of what they did. This books more traditional in its approach: it uses 2024 design ideas plus the "mythic" trait from Theros.

D&D General Cthulhu by Torchlight Brings Mythos To D&D

This was interesting about mythos monsters:

I believe I read it is 2024, but I will just buy it and confirm - give me 10 minutes

D&D General Cthulhu by Torchlight Brings Mythos To D&D

On the D&D Beyond sources page it is under partnered content like all 3PP content, not Sourcebook or Adventure sections which are for official material only. Look down there on the bottom right.

D&D General Cthulhu by Torchlight Brings Mythos To D&D

Why? Do you get mad a DriveThruRPG or Barnes & Noble or Amazon because they sell WotC D&D books alongside 3PP books? If you are worried about "mixing" official and 3pp content it is clearly segregated on the Sources page after the official "Sourcebooks" & "Adventures:" This is what I lot...

D&D General Cthulhu by Torchlight Brings Mythos To D&D

I feel this statement is misleading as it implies that the Cthulhu Mythos was not already in 5e. I am sure there are others, but Sandy Petersen's Cthulhu Mythos (anyflip link) came out in 2018 for 5e. It is quite an interesting book IMO with interesting boss monster mechanics.

D&D 5E (2024) Here's The Covers of BOTH of November's Forgotten Realms Books

Like I started with, everyone is different (and that is OK). The mock book covers just screamed fake/cheap/not serious to me. However, I came from the 1e era so maybe I was also biased by covers I came to game with.

D&D 5E (2024) Here's The Covers of BOTH of November's Forgotten Realms Books

I'm not a social media guy and really only "discovered" the world of youtube about 6 months ago. Video games are not one of the subjects I consume on that platform (or any other one really).

D&D 5E (2024) Here's The Covers of BOTH of November's Forgotten Realms Books

I really haven't played video games since the late '80s / early '90s. So unless it is 30-40 years old it is not really on my radar!

D&D 5E (2024) Here's The Covers of BOTH of November's Forgotten Realms Books

I would say it is you, but I then realize I never play video games and really have little to no idea what they look like these days!
