D&D 5E (2024) Here's The Covers of BOTH of November's Forgotten Realms Books

I prefer the player's guide myself, but I don't think either of these are winners IMO. Neither of them sell me on the book, so to me that is a failure.

D&D 5E (2024) Here's The Covers of BOTH of November's Forgotten Realms Books

Not my experience with AI art. In fact, I generally dislike AI art because is so bland and derivative. That, and is generally horribly at making dragons.

D&D 5E (2024) Here's The Covers of BOTH of November's Forgotten Realms Books

I'm just curious, what do you like about the mock book look? For me, it just screams "this is fake" and takes me out of the mindset I'm trying to get into. However, I realize that is my issue. So what works for you about the mock book approach.

D&D 5E (2024) Here's The Covers of BOTH of November's Forgotten Realms Books

I mean everyone is different, but I am surprised someone wouldn't ask "What the hell is that?" For me I really disliked the faux book covers. I also didn't care for the inside trade dress, again faux book look, or stat block presentation either: There is really nothing a like about these...

D&D 5E (2024) Here's The Covers of BOTH of November's Forgotten Realms Books

My goodness I am a 180 from the opinion. The 3e trade dress and graphic design are one of the major things that kept me away from that edition!

D&D 5E (2024) Here's The Covers of BOTH of November's Forgotten Realms Books

Not really interested in more types of dragons, just more images, videos, stats, minis, etc. of dragons. I would also get behind a genetically engineered dragon - maybe we can crowdfund that! :p

Forgotten Realms Books to Have Several Digital DLCs, Including One Featuring Asterion

I mean DnD Beyond has offered digital only content (usually free) for D&D supplements for years. Some of which was also downloadable in PDF format. If this a move to have more of that I am all for it!

D&D 5E (2024) Here's The Covers of BOTH of November's Forgotten Realms Books

I also prefer the Sword Coast cover for many of the same reasons you list, but I don't think either of them is particularly good. Cover art should attract me and tempt me to purchase the book. Neither of those covers do that for me.

D&D 5E (2024) Here's The Covers of BOTH of November's Forgotten Realms Books

Dragons, always more dragons. IDK, maybe a map of FR or similar landscape overview for the Adventures book. Focus on the setting not the characters. For the player's guide it is a little to cartoony for my taste, but I don't find it offensive or anything. It wouldn't stop me from buying it...

D&D 5E (2024) Here's The Covers of BOTH of November's Forgotten Realms Books

What paywall are you talking about? I clicked on the link in the OP and went right to the article. I don't have a subscription to Game Informer,* so no paywall I can see - or are you talking about something else? *This wouldn't be a WotC paywall if it was a paywall anyway.

Paizo Partners with Titan Forge and MyMiniFactory to Offer Premium STLs and Print-On-Demand Miniatures

I have no idea. My desire only comes from whether or not I like the monster design. For example, I like most of the new 2024 dragon designs. I've already pre-order the black and red minis. Now, if they offered STLs of those designs I could print them to whatever scale I wanted and even...

Paizo Partners with Titan Forge and MyMiniFactory to Offer Premium STLs and Print-On-Demand Miniatures

Yes and no. High quality STLs of the current "official" monsters designs are much less common IME. Can you get something that is close - sure, but it is not the real thing. The same is true for "official" PF2 monsters. However, that is not the point really. It is just a good idea to offer this...

D&D General Fallback: Dealing With Dragons Review from dungeonsanddragonsfan.com [[spoilers]]

That is not how the English language works. The whole paragraph is explaining that though primordial dragons may look and act similar to gods, and may in fact even be called gods, they are of a different essential nature than the gods. Then why not state that instead of calling them primordial...

D&D General Fallback: Dealing With Dragons Review from dungeonsanddragonsfan.com [[spoilers]]

Thank you for the citation! It is noteworthy, IMO, that calling gods Estelar only pertains to the Forgotten Realms setting from what I can tell (it never seems to have appeared outside the 4e FR Campaing Guide). In fact, the source of the citation referenced notes that though this is considered...

D&D General Fallback: Dealing With Dragons Review from dungeonsanddragonsfan.com [[spoilers]]

I agree there are edge cases (particularly D&D's habit of having mortals ascend to god-hood), but again I think the general definition is clear and helpful. I could even make an argument for all gods "hailing" from the outer planes from a certain point of view. However, I will ask again, has it...
