Although I 100% support Intelligent Javelinmasters, when you build one with the Character Builder only your melee attack with javelins use your Int. So there goes that idea! :erm: But you still get your Int with melee attacks, so use whatever melee weapon you like if it floats your boat. Also...

Close attacks too, so they eat up breath weapons and such as well. I agree that your DM will like your rager more with fewer temp hp per hit. It'll feel less futile. :yawn:

Someone linked to a WotC response on this - switching hands is a free action, so you could start your turn holding your sword 1-handed, grip it w/2 hands to attack then switch back to one hand after the attack all for 2 free actions, never impacting your AC. Some DMs may be left with a funny...

The PHB2 art looks just like the MM art, except the MM's gnome looks like he has paper hair. I'm especially fond of the black eyes. Shady fey vibe 10/10! Also, gnomes are going to make sweet bards. Crazy, I know.

Summons don't need to be sustained, but attacking with them is a standard action.
