    Yep. And if a magic item is in a published adventure that is useless to the party or useful to a PC that already has more magic items than the others I've been known to change it. Not always. But sometimes.

    I have a warlock in my group that does this. We play mostly published adventures so it's not a problem for me. But if we were running homebrew adventures I would definitely through some water related hazards in the party's way to reward him for that.

    All four passages do indeed come together in a small chamber. To the south there is a low stone door. It is covered in a carved wave/tentacle pattern intermingled with what appears to be eyes.

    Believe me...as a DM, a PC attempting to jump a trap and falling into it is one of the most entertaining things there is. But no check is required for a 5' jump.

    I see. I assumed you two were helping each other. Probably had the Help action in my brain since I had just posted about that. There is no reason two people can't share the same 5' space to search. As long as you aren't surprised and have room to separate I wouldn't enforce the penalties...

    The passage goes another 5' or so past the hollow space (so 25' total) and turns 45 degrees toward the south then goes out of sight.

    About 15' down the passage Surana notices some of the flag stones in the floor appear to be loose and when Ezraen's sword strikes one it sounds hollow underneath. After a bit more investigation it seems there is a 5'X5' hollow space (unknown depth) under the floor.

    Nice roll. I was just about to suggest that since you lack a good trap finder you at least work together to gain advantage on your checks...that seems unnecessary with that result. Anyone else doing anything while she does this? Orsik offers to follow Surana to provide light.
