people seemed to be unsure what the OP meant , i just added a summary of what i thought he meant i could have been wrong ....ive played a lot of 4e at cons and homeplay it has quite a bit i like, and quite a bit i dont for me this balance isnt enough to make it something i want to play...

    Removing homogenity from 4e

Which RPGs are you currently playing?

2nd ed DQ. was my first game in 1981 and always my fav. VQ uses the same 'rules' set so skill group of Channeller, Doctor, Scientist, Academic etc and 'rules lightened' somewhat but ported to 1865 Victorian London. was frustrated that every victoriana out there had steampunk, fantasy...

So what are the thoughts on the RPGA?

when you play its the same as the majority of other D&D games there is a plot/adventure that needs solving and can be done so with a 4 hour time frame for the most part not much freedom to wander off plan, PCs cant do evil acts and with xp and treasure limits, you often need to ensure you...

    Playing Evil

good discussion. point above is excellent...if you arent doing the things that make orcs evil, and they are low end evil morales beasties, you arent being evil. -support slavery, capture new slaves, own slaves -go back and kill any gaurd who gives you grief about entering town. rob his...

Was D&D the game you introduced role playing with?

i started with SPI dragonquest in 1981 played lots versions D&D but i dont think its great to introduce new players too. it can seem really geeky / overly complex, no matter which edition to introduce someone to rpg-ing just use "You are at work. the power goes out. you seem to be the only...
