    D&D 5E (2014) [Spoilers] Out of the Abyss - Graz'zt tactics

I kinda of played it that teleporting is dangerous due to faerzress and the demon incursion. But I like the idea that Vizeran used a decoy. edit: on second thoughts, in order to fool Graz'zt, his death should look real. I guess I may go the "clone" route. Though I also like the idea of the...

    D&D 5E (2014) [Spoilers] Out of the Abyss - Graz'zt tactics

I wish I had posted this last week, so I could prepare all this awesomeness. As it was, we had the fight yesterday, and it was... interesting. The party is talking with Vizeran on the top floor of the tower, when Graz'zt (in the shape of a male drow) floats up from the hole in the center of the...

They followed Peebles to his master Xazax the beholder.

    D&D 5E (2014) [Spoilers] Out of the Abyss - Graz'zt tactics

I'm DMing Out of the Abyss with a "little" twist. Basically the party TPKed outside of Manthol-Derith, and we decided to get our Tyranny of Dragons party out of retirement, and tackle the rest of OotA with them. So, the party is lvl 16 (4 players = fighter, cleric, rogue, wizard, all dwarves)...

D&D 5E (2014) For honor. How would you do it?

Mh, all homebrew classes looks like a lot of work... but I like the idea of stances

D&D 5E (2014) For honor. How would you do it?

What options would you allow in a campaign inspired by the video game "For Honor"? races, human only, maybe create some additional rule for each culture. So far I'm thinking: Barbarian (frenzy only; maybe allow battlerager) Fighter (battlemaster, banneret, champion) Monk (open hand only) Rogue...

D&D 5E (2014) Wall of Force Reality Check (as used by DM not players)

Does the dome have to rest on the ground? Can't I create it one inch off the floor? So who ever is inside is stuck (unless he has a way to squeeze through one inch) and I can still pellet them with ranged spell (nothing requiring an attack roll)?

Dragonlance Dragonlance: Is it possible to run a Dragonlance game using the current core rules and material?

I think you were actually allowed to bring some companions with you, or maybe just a second? Not sure, but I remember I had the two wizards in our party do the test together with the rest of the party, and I run them through a Dungeon Magazine scenario titled "the anvil of time". It was a blast...

Dragonlance Dragonlance: Is it possible to run a Dragonlance game using the current core rules and material?

Let me have a look at my Dragonlance modules... Raistlin is a wizard... Sturm is a fighter... Goldmoon is a cleric... Tas is a thief... mh... you could do this with just the Basic Rules! Knights of Solamnia, wizards of the (insert color) robes, and cleric of the order of the stars are just...

Which official 5E adventures have you played through?

Have played/am playing all except PotA. No real reason for skipping this. I guess it just took us longer to finish ToD, and OotA was already out. So we went for that. But we played a lot the boardgame Temple of Elemental Evil, so I guess it counts for something.

Yes indeed, one minute... definitely not something you want to do during a battle.

    D&D 5E (2014) Moon Domain?

As a level 1 feature, what about "all you attacks ignore resistance and immunity to nonsilvered weapons"?

D&D 5E (2014) Wall of Force Reality Check (as used by DM not players)

Tiny hut looks even better than Wall of Force defensively. Go against big boss, cast tiny hut with the whole party inside. Then one by one, get out, attack, get back in. Lasts 8 hrs, no concentration required.

D&D 5E (2014) Wall of Force Reality Check (as used by DM not players)

Can u cast a Sacred Flame through a wall of force? I mean, it's not a ray or a line, or a cone, it's just magical energy appearing on your target? See for example Forcecage, which clearly states that no spell can be cast through it. Wall of force does not say that.

D&D 5E (2014) Slightly confused about Curse of Strahd

Maybe make it impossible to enter the chapel unles X happens. Wall of Force, crazy difficult multi-lock, or just the mists making it impossible to enter. They'll probably explore a little more, and then go back there when they have exhausted other options. Or don't have Strahd be in the...

Explain to me again, how we know the Earth to be banana shaped.

Nah, that's just silly, no one would ever go with that... :P

    D&D 5E (2014) Confusion

look for spells that say "the creature is charmed. While charmed, following effect applies..." If a creature is immune to "charmed" condition, then it is immune to that spell. For example "charm person" (duh?) mentions: If it fails the saving throw, it is charmed by you. The charmed creatures...
