D&D 5E (2014) Hermits, tell me about your discovery!

F e a t u r e : D i s c o v e r y The quiet seclusion of your extended hermitage gave you access to a unique and powerful discovery. The exact nature of this revelation depends on the nature of your seclusion. It might be a great truth about the cosmos, the deities, the powerful beings of the...

Tales From The Yawning Portal - 7 Classic Dungeons Updated To 5E!

Why do ppl watch football on TV instead of playing it themselves? I guess it's the same reason. I'm 38, and a follower of Critical Role. I watch (well, listen to) CR every week, not only because it's enjoyable, but I also learned A LOT about DMing by following Matt.

Tales From The Yawning Portal - 7 Classic Dungeons Updated To 5E!

I don't understand... is this just a collection of old adventures, updated to the 5e rules? That's... it? I'm a huge fanboy, really, DnD can do no wrong for me... but this is just... lazy? Maybe I got it wrong?

D&D 5E (2014) What happens if you take a bag of holding into rope trick's extra dimensional space?

Nothing happens. It clearly mentions that for disaster to occur you need to place the bag into an extradimensional space created by an ITEM. Rope Trick is not an item. Magnificent Mansion is also not an item.

D&D 5E (2014) How would you handle raising dead on a PC that didn't believe in the gods?

Maybe its just semantics, but I don't think that in Faerun you can say "I don't believe in the gods". The gods exist, and disbelieving that is foolish. That said, you can always say "I don't pray to the gods, nor do I respect them". For those familiar with Planescape, look at the Athar faction...

D&D 5E (2014) What is the highest level you normally play to?

We ended ToD at lvl 15, and CoS at level 10. My own campaigns run for a year, which brings us more or less to level 15. Currently I'm DMing a Planescape campaign, and I'm planning to go at least to lvl 18, probably making that final stretch to lvl 20.

    D&D 5E (2014) Science Fantasy and D&D

I'm currently DMing a Spelljammer campaign using 5e rules (http://spelljammer1.blogspot.be/) and I would also like to integrate Rogue Trader mechanics into it. Any chance you would share your notes?

D&D 5E (2014) I'm the DM and a player is trying to abuse the Immovable Rod. Advice?

Ruleswise, as many have stated before, it takes an action to activate a single rod, so I guess the problem is solved right there. In the rare case you manage to grapple someone with it (looks pretty situational to me), nothing stops the target to push the button again and free itself. But what...

    D&D 5E (2014) I'd really, really like to hear about some fights with Strahd . . !

I think the DM was just tired of the campaign. Apart from a TPK in Death House, we steam-rolled through the whole module. We met Strahd in the tower where the "heart" was. We had already destroyed the heart from a distance, while fending off some vampire spawns. Maybe the DM thought Strahd was...

    D&D 5E (2014) I'd really, really like to hear about some fights with Strahd . . !

Unfortunately, we only met him at the very last. He was vanquished in less than one round (only 4 out of 6 players got to act, then he was already dead...). Biggest disappointment of the whole adventure.
