Dungeons & Dragons Announces Horror Subclasses Unearthed Arcana

If I was WotC I would try Ravenloft sourcebook to be released near Halloween date. I wouldn't publish a rehush of Van Ritchen's Guide but a different title adding more things, like new domains and monsters. If I was the Dark Powers of the demiplane of dread and somebody tried to escape my...

Dungeons & Dragons Announces Horror Subclasses Unearthed Arcana

Now the reanimator subclass makes me to remember the 1999 sci-fi horror movie "Virus". Could a reanimator to "craft" (almost artificial) muscles for biopunk machines? For example a crossbow that reloads itself. I wonder how would be a subclass about the dread elementals (blood, grave, mist and...

Dungeons & Dragons Announces Horror Subclasses Unearthed Arcana

The druid circle of spore could be dreadful if we remember the infected from the famous videogame (and now action-live serie) "the last of us" or the 2008 horror movie "splinter". Have you forgotten the yellow musk creeper? A vampire PC is possible but not advisable. It is not only the damage...

Dungeons & Dragons Announces Horror Subclasses Unearthed Arcana

--- The artificer is going to enjoy a new subclass beyond one sourcebook. This should mean a sign this class will be supported by WotC. Will we watch UA about PC species? Somebody could say they Van Ritchen's Guiden don't need an update. Maybe we will see the Ravenloft logo but the crunch...

    Planescape Primalshard: other "echo" plane.

(I add this song as source of inspiration and to create atmosphere) Tapestria, the battlefield for the loom of the eternity. (Isekai meets the 70s) In a far wildspace a pantheon of deities ruled a rich civilitation what was started its path. Among them a marriage had got a beatiful (out and...

RPG Archive: Star*Drive for D&D and Traveller

My opinion is a future new edition of Alternity would be bought to play their homemade version of their favorite sci-fi franchise: Star Wars, Star Trek, Andromeda, Farscape, Falling Skies (teleserie), Blade Runner, Halo, Half-Life, Aliens vs Predators, Dead Space, Terminator, Mars Attacks...

RPG Archive: Star*Drive for D&D and Traveller

WotC could publish in D&D-Beyond free articles like Magic Planeshift about forgotten franchises with the intention to recover brand power. I don't advice to mix gothic horror and space opera because advanced technology could be too powerful to hunt the classical monsters. If the players are...

RPG Archive: Star*Drive for D&D and Traveller

I bought Vampire 20A, Ghouls 20A and Vampire: Dark Age 20A because I love those clans. Really my favorite WoD line is Mage: the Ascension. Some times I try to imagine a mash-up version mixing Kult: Lost Divinity, WoD+CoD and Ravenloft (+Innistrad). When I started to collect comics in the 90s I...

Where’s The Beastmaster Roleplaying Game? Part 1

Does anybody remember the action-live serie "Sheena, queen of the jungle" or the Hanna-Barbera cartoon show "Jana of the Jungle"?

RPG Archive: Star*Drive for D&D and Traveller

Other point is after the past popularity of World of Darkness now if a setting has got vampires or other type of humanoid monsters some players want to be no-humans. And then if the PCs are supernatural monsters the GMs could invent a new mythology about how to defeat those monsters, for example...

WotC Ruins of Symbaroum: Setting Handbook is Now Available on D&D Beyond

OK, it is only fluff(lore/background) and nothing of crunch (magic items, spells, feats, subclasses). My opinion is this type of sourcebook seems like a test to encourauge 3PPs to sell in D&DBeyond because this would work like no-so-expensive advertising. Even if they sell one title this is...

RPG Archive: Star*Drive for D&D and Traveller

Of course we can add conspirancies style Lovecraftian cults, James Bond's villain gallery or evil faction from superheroe comics. In the 80s cartoon there was something like a reptilian alien conspirancy, the "Cobra-la" from G.I.Joe cartoon movie. Cobra-La Other point is lots of players...

Pathfinder to Release Lost Omens: Draconic Codex in December

Some weeks ago I bought Fizban's book of dragons, and my opinion is the 3.5 Draconomicon had got more crunch and monsters. The seeds of adventures may be wellcome, but I would rather more pages about dragons than about lairs. I miss the ferrous and the planar dragons. How would be the planar...

RPG Archive: Star*Drive for D&D and Traveller

You should take care when we are talking about the real life, or History, because somebody may arrive to tell a different version. I hope this example to be enoughly soft. Let's remember the old far-west movies where the Northamerican natives are the antagonists. But later other people started...

If there is a new version of Dark*Matter I guess it would be in a fictional world like the plane "New Capena" of Magic: the Gathering. Even if WotC said nothing linked to conspirancy theories from the real life some DM could, or somebody publishing in DMGuild. We are in the age of internet and...

    Planescape Primalshard: other "echo" plane.

Nova Tartessos. Where the dungeon crawling is a religious duty. This wildspace is really special because it is totally artificial, created by an alien group called "the strangers" and the deity Teron earned the control of the supreme computer. To understand it better we need to know the story...

D&D 5E (2014) According to the Hasbro Q1 earning call D&D sales are up substantially.

But we should remember thanks D&D-Beyond the 3PPs can be sold to other countires when they physical books aren't sent to the shops. Other point is the new edition of the classic dungeon-crawling tabletop board game "Hero Quest" is being a great success, maybe even better than the original, and...

D&D 5E (2014) According to the Hasbro Q1 earning call D&D sales are up substantially.

Maybe WotC's strategy of 3PPs in D&DBeyond is right, because thoses are creating crunch that help to promote the brand, and they enjoy the best showcase to promote their own titles. I wonder if WotC will acquire some IP in the future when some 3PP had to close the business.
