D&D 5E (2014) Can Bard cast Word of Recall?

WTF is that supposed to mean? No idea what you're talking about.

D&D 5E (2014) Can Bard cast Word of Recall?

With regards to direct physical presence, yes. The PCs are the focus of the game, so having deities directly involved in the world and mucking about would be kind of a buzzkill. Inasmuch as deities not only grant their priests/clerics the ability to work miracles (look, instant healing!) on...

D&D 5E (2014) Can Bard cast Word of Recall?

That may very well be the most succinct summary of Greek Mythology ever written.

D&D 5E (2014) Can Bard cast Word of Recall?

It's not about "playing D&D right." It's about the core assumptions in the basic rules: one of the basic classes -the Cleric- is granted potent spells by their deity on a daily basis which anyone and everyone can witness them using. So yes, it's a default assumption of D&D that there are gods...

D&D 5E (2014) Can Bard cast Word of Recall?

If the OP had specified any of those, you'd have a point.

D&D 5E (2014) Can Bard cast Word of Recall?

The suggestion that any D&D character would by lacking a patron deity is laughable. The idea of not believing/following any gods in a world where physical proof of their existence, their power, and their constant interest in mortal affairs makes absolutely no sense. So yes, a Bard most likely...

    Dragonlance Dragonlance 5E

Nothing official, but there does seem to be quite a lot of home brewed material for Dragonlance on the net at this point. We just finished RoT and our DM is starting a Dragonlance campaign at our next meeting because it's his all-time favorite setting. He's not waiting for an "official"...

D&D 5E (2014) Is this an abuse of the Advantage/Disadvantage system?

It's only abuse if you're inconsistent to the point that the players notice and it spoils their fun.

    D&D 5E (2014) GWM/SS alternative mechanics to the -5/+10 bonus?

Excellent solution, and I like the fact that it scales with level. One of the issues I have with GWM and SS feats is that they give a 4th level character (or a 1st level variant human) a massively front-loaded benefit which seems too big for their level, then becomes less relevant (or less...

D&D 5E (2014) Attack bonus vs. damage bonus

What's the formula look like if you're using one of the -5/+10 feats, and where is the break even point in that case?

    D&D 5E (2014) Dirty Secrets?

Just in case my avatar isn't a dead giveaway, my dirty secret is that I'd rather be playing Ars Magica. Wait, am I even allowed to say that here?

Constitution is will power? No it's not....

I've found that "in character" resolutions can work for role-playing issues, and when handled properly, the results are entertaining for everyone. But for disagreements over mechanical or rules issues, it's just going to be obvious what's happening: DM is targeting problem player. This will...

Constitution is will power? No it's not....

Is this one of the same people you were having trouble with in the "Did I do something wrong?" thread? If so, you really need to find a new gaming group. No, I'm not joking. Life is too short to waste time gaming with people this dim.

Can you shoot a bow and wear a shield at the same time?

Yes, with magic it would be possible. So if someone shows me a character sheet with a magical bow that can be fired accurately with one hand (not listed in the DMG) or a magic shield that requires no hands (DMG p151) that's perfectly reasonable. But if the only explanation is "Hey it's magic!"...

Can you shoot a bow and wear a shield at the same time?

Unless it's strapped to your back (which is still likely to make things difficult) NO, it's not possible to carry a shield on one arm and fire a bow and arrow at the same time with any accuracy. All I can say to anyone who disagrees is go give it a try and get back to me.

Can you shoot a bow and wear a shield at the same time?

Anyone who's ever handled any type of bow knows this is absolute nonsense.

D&D 5E (2014) How Murder Hobo is Your Party

Probably about a 2. We go to great lengths to avoid combat, but it's motivated almost as much by a desire to conserve resources as by pacifism. If it was purely out of pacifism I'd call it a solid 1.

    D&D 5E (2014) Wand of Wonder?

Over the years I've come to realize that the best use for a Wand of Wonder, or any other form of Chaos Magic (including the entire sub-class of Sorcerer) is to identify D&D players I'd like to avoid.
