    Dragonlance Dragonlance "Reimagined".

But Ed Brubaker didn't reveal new information that we didn't have previously. He completely rebooted the entirety of Cap's continuity with his 2005 "Man Out of Time" story arc which led right into The Winter Soldier. Full disclosure I've been a Cap fan since the late 70's and own a comic...

    Dragonlance Dragonlance "Reimagined".

Well said. For all we know Sorcerers and Tieflings will be integrated into the new Dragonlance Setting as seamlessly as modern Bucky was into the MCU. Sure we had multiple decades of Silver and Copper Age Cap where "Nobody stays dead in comics except Uncle Ben and Bucky" was one of the most...

D&D General Survivor Thread: Best D&D Movie

I know it isn't traditional high fantasy due to the high tech aspects but me and my old gaming group are all in agreement that Thor Ragnarok is probably the closest in tone to most of our old adventures with the alternating "save the world" stakes and badass/cool juxtaposed with wacky one-liners...

    Dragonlance Dragonlance "Reimagined".

“Dragonlance is a story of love and friendship set against a backdrop of war.” --Margaret Weis I've been a fan of Dragonlance novels and game materials since the 80's and have watched it be massively overhauled in real time over all those years in both the novels and game. Taladas, The Chaos...

Dragonlance "The Women of Dragonlance" -- Larry Elmore's New Dragonlance Painting

Larry suffered a stroke in 1991 causing him to basically reteach himself how to paint. He took that opportunity to try and revise his style (losing the signature "big eyes" on his characters for one) in the process. As a result his art from that point on was never quite the same.

D&D as humanocetric ... or not?

    Yes sir! 😁

If Bruder dies I probably will. 😉

    D&D 5E (2014) D&D and Settings: What's Next?

I'd love it if a couple years from now I am able to look over at my bookshelf and see three new 5E hardcovers for Dark Sun, Dragonlance, and Planescape.

D&D 4E Where was 4e headed before it was canned?

Fantastic discussion guys. I find the Captain America references fascinating if for no other reason than he's my favorite superhero. :-D However I would argue that Captain America as seen on screen actually supports a 5E style of play more than 4E. Sure his fighting style was cranked up to...

D&D 4E Where was 4e headed before it was canned?

Not to derail the thread but is it believed that there even will be a 6th Edition? I thought I read a few years back that going forward WOTC wanted D&D to be like Monopoly, a game that is sold for decades and decades without constant revisions to the core rules. Which would be quite refreshing...

D&D 5E (2014) Monster Manual soon to be in the wild!

I swear that pic of the toad swallowing the guy almost brought a tear to my eye with it's 1st Edition awesomeness....

D&D 5E (2014) Beware the barbarian in the chainmail bikini! Or, check out the max Barbarian AC!

I love it. Even if a fighter can still match or slightly best that with fully enchanted plate armor it doesn't change the fact that the Barbarian can hold his/her own while being virtually naked. That's bad ass.

D&D 5E (2014) No Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting in development?

AD&D 1E didn't give us the Dragonlance Adventures hardcover until 3 years after the modules started coming out. Ravenloft Campaign Box Set was years after its introductory module as well. I like the idea of them going back to giving you glimpses of worlds through modules and letting each...

D&D 5E (2014) Why is the "Dungeons & Dragons" label so discreet in 5E?

Well it certainly doesn't seem that there is any widespread concern over WOTC diminishing the "Dungeons & Dragons" label so I'll take it as an aesthetic design choice and nothing more. :D

    D&D 5E (2014) Shameless WotC appreciation post

The old school gamer in me really loves that the new game in 2014 uses the Forgotten Realms as its default setting. I just think it's great that they chose one of the three settings that dates all the way back to 1st Edition. It's 1987 all over again! :D

D&D 5E (2014) Why is the "Dungeons & Dragons" label so discreet in 5E?

It still seems different to me because D&D is the product, not the company. So I guess it isn't totally like KFC. TSR was an abbreviated company name, but they never hid the full title of their product. Maybe its nothing but I was just surprised to not see "DUNGEONS & DRAGONS" in massive font...

D&D 5E (2014) Why is the "Dungeons & Dragons" label so discreet in 5E?

Has there been any precedent for any company moving away from an iconic label that they were proud of in favor of an abbreviation? It seems like the only time it was done before was due to a perceived stigma of the full title.

D&D 5E (2014) Why is the "Dungeons & Dragons" label so discreet in 5E?

From 1977-1999 we had "Advanced" Dungeons & Dragons and that went away in 2000 with 3E. Now for the first time in 40 years the "Dungeons & Dragons" label is barely noticeable compared to the more prominent "D&D." Does WOTC consider there to be a stigma against Dungeons & Dragons? I'm reminded...

D&D 5E (2014) Starter set cover art meh?

I think the Starter Set dragon looks awesome and is totally reminiscent of early 80's art. The fighter on the other hand just doesn't seem that heroic or "cool" to me. Its hard to put my finger on why but I remember looking at the fighter with the massive enchanted sword and wicked armor...
