I've always been under the impression that AD&D updated its covers in 1983 to get away from the "devil" images on the covers of the PHB and DMG.

What do you guys think about WOTC re-releasing the core rulebooks with updated covers in 2-4 years like they did back in the day with AD&D? I think that would be a good way to get a cheap boost in core rulebook sales and could appeal to new gamers and add a little bit of a collectability...

I'm not familiar with any 4E races. So how did tieflings in that edition perpetuate their race? Procreating with each other? Or does any tiefling who mates with a human spawn a full-blooded tiefling? For some reason I'm getting a cool Pan's Labyrinth vibe from these guys and I kinda like it.

I agree. And "dark and angsty is cool" isn't even confined to just males. Think about the Twilight movies/books which are a global phenomenon and appeal to tween girls all the way up to 60 year old women. A huge percentage of their fan base are known as "Twilight moms," married or single moms...
