    Sweet Cover Art?

Oh you know, "real life stuff." ;) Nothing much in the way of role-playing or art collecting. Have you framed your WAR pieces yet? :D

    Sweet Cover Art?

WOW. Nothing like taking a break from D&D for a couple of years to *really* appreciate the nostalgic resonance of those early Basic and 1E covers. Anyone know if that Erol Otus painting was ever made available as a print?

    Serenity DVD [SPOILERS]

I was surprised while watching Matrix Revolutions that when Trinity finally died after reciting her memoirs that when they cut back to Neo he wasn't sporting a full beard. I know I was when it was finally over.

Whedon sounds death knell for Firefly/Serenity

Heh, just messin' with you guys. I didn't care much for the flick, but to each his own. There are definitely worse movies to gush over. :)

Whedon sounds death knell for Firefly/Serenity

Does anyone know if Universal is going to release a trilogy DVD box set with Wing Commander, Ghosts of Mars, and Serenity? Some people like to have connected movies of an ongoing series all together in an attractive keep case.

Movie vs. Trailer: 13th Warrior, ROTK

How about the original teaser for Alien 3? "On earth, everyone can hear you scream..." Yeah, but they can only hear you screaming because you got duped by the teaser.

Cinetopia is $9.50. There's one in Vancouver, WA, one planned for Seattle and another in Portland, Oregon. There was a news special in August about how state of the art theaters like Cinetopia are spreading throughout the country to respond to the need for a more comfortable and enjoyable...

A theory that won't ever manifest in reality until home theater screens and speakers are as big as those in movie theaters. As HDTV continues to bring the theater home, movie theaters are responding to the challenge by bringing the living room to the theater. All over the country high class...

Saw it Saturday. One of the greatest movies I've ever seen.

    Rate Narnia (spoiler-free thread)

There would be very little from the book to put back in. The movie followed it almost exactly, with even a couple of additions like extra scenes with the wolves and the bombing raid in the beginning. My wife and I loved it. Not a cinematic achievement on the level of LOTR, but it followed the...

    Nintendo DS wireless capabilities

Hey all, I haven't paid too much attention to the Nintendo DS until a friend brought one to work with the new Mario Kart game yesterday. I was hooked! Since then I've talked to people and gone online to learn about the wi-fi. How does it work? Amazon.com says you can play friends up to 100...

Superman I & II: not all that

I haven't seen Superman II in a number of years, but count me in as someone who still loves the original. Sure the "Can you read my mind" poetry sequence is pretty embarrassing now but overall the movie still works on pretty much all levels. I would rank only the two Spidey flicks and Batman...

    Any good action/adventure cartoons?

Thanks for the feedback guys. I'm very curious about Avatar. Is the new Justice League series on DVD?

    Any good action/adventure cartoons?

Thundarr was great but I actually was asking about *current* cartoons that follow the He-Man/Thundercats tradition. Sorry for not being more clear.

    Any good action/adventure cartoons?

Hey, I noticed that He-Man and Thundercats are on DVD, in addition to GI Joe and Transformers. I loved these shows as a kid and will probably pick them up (assuming I can find the last two which are no longer at retail.) But I was wondering what the great, if any, successors to those shows...

Help me plan my SW marathon

For someone who's seen all movies, I-VI is the way to go. For someone new, either IV,V,I,II,III,VI or I-VI. But I'd be inclined to recommend I-VI. The twist in ESB is great, but so much of the OT becomes so much more poignant after watching the prequels, particularly ROTS. Luke gazing at the...
