    D&D 5E (2014) Alternative Wildshape Rules

A totem warriors get animal-like features. Druids turning into animals sets them apart. Just adding abilities and stats all the time has a game-like feel. Being able to do something different, having a different kind nd of mechanic for gaining abilities by becoming a (basically) whole new...

    D&D 5E (2014) Alternative Wildshape Rules

To me these alternate rules would make 5e feel much more gamey. Actually turning into an animal feels so much more magical.

    D&D 5E (2014) Gear-Dependent Classes

This thread makes me yearn to play in a low-magic campaign like cubicle7’s 5e Middle Earth or as a zero-level player that needs to rely on equipment and expedition planning.

    D&D 5E (2014) Flying Races: Limiting Flight

Personally, I don’t have a problem with arrakocra flight at all. That said, I sure hope you aren’t thinking about using many of those. I can’t recall one instance of a larger creatures. Other 5e flying creatures do not have a restriction on squeezing, and many real birds squeeze through...

D&D 5E (2014) How did you handle the Aarakocra?

Perhaps take the Mobile feat. Makes a fast aarakocra even faster, but better yet, when it swoops down to attack, it can fly out of melee range again without taking an opportunity attack. It can also use reach weapons in the same manner. Or make it a range fighter/caster, using speed and flight...

    Custom Shield Proficiency Feat Ideas

A sorcerer can get shield proficiency, but it would take 2 feats: lightly armored and moderately armored. If you want it in 1 new feat, I might grant: • Increase your Intelligence score by 1, to a maximum of 20. • You gain proficiency with shields. • You can use a shield as a weapon that does...

    D&D 5E (2014) Question about Ranger's ability vs Hordes

Primeval Guardian was the one I was most looking forward to, but it didn’t make the cut. And, with the Guardian of Nature spell added in XGtE, it looks like that subclass may have been scavenged for parts.

D&D 5E (2014) Which adventure are you currently running?

I voted for several. I wished I could have voted for Himebrew more than once dince I have 3 homebrew campaigns going. Others may too which can skew poll results away from homebrew..

    D&D 5E (2014) Question about Ranger's ability vs Hordes

Why are you under that assumption?

    D&D 5E (2014) Attacking 1 Opponent at a Time

I’m all for fudging roles at times, especially to create a stronger narrative. However, I would play that both ways: if there is a great nemesis for the players, I just might have him use focus tactics or even attack unconscious opponents (perhaps starting with an NPC ally of the PCs) to show...

    D&D 5E (2014) Attacking 1 Opponent at a Time

I don’t think focused fire would be a tactic many NPCs would use but something different from a group that has a smart leader. My plan is to use it as part an ambush from a hated nemesis.

    D&D 5E (2014) Attacking 1 Opponent at a Time

No, it doesn’t bother me. I do it when I play because it seems almost disingenuous not to since we’re using non-facing mechanics. I am planning on springing it on players, dropping one unconscious but not outright killinging yet.

    D&D 5E (2014) Attacking 1 Opponent at a Time

    1. Are my players right in thinking (tactically, mechanically) it’s better for them all to attack a single opponent (perhaps the spellcaster), take it out (and thus a turn of being attacked), them all move onto another single opponent together? 2. Would it be “fair” for an intelligent group of...

D&D 5E (2014) Xanathar's Guide to Everything: What subclasses made the cut?

I know Storm Herald came out in a 2016 UA (I played minotaur one for s bit). I saw the grung played on Stream of Annihilation but never saw where one was statted up for non-stream players, unless you count the ToA surrogate.

D&D 5E (2014) Xanathar's Guide to Everything: What subclasses made the cut?

Probably the surrogate characters if ToA AL, but it has been confirmed XGtE win’t have new races.
