I don’t understand the issue. Are you suggesting something critical is missing from 5e making heists impossible to play under the current rules? Are you saying there are no 5e rules about time or irl time-tracking technologies that could be used?

I must say I enjoy planning the heist strategy and DMng others doing so. As to the heist movie feel of BiD, too much of it makes me feel the same way I do when I’m trying to figure out a puzzle in game and another play makes a decent skill check to beat me to the solution.

Just read “Prisoner 13.” I was really looking forward to this book and having this show up early meant I could run it for a 1-shot I had planned in a week. Unfortunately, this really doesn’t give me much more than Rime of the Frostmaiden.

Instead of rolling, as a DM I allow classes to take average starting gold (just like they do with hp after the 1st).

Roll for Combat is reporting Hasbro is planning to have DND Beyond subscriptions tiered up to $30 a month per player that will come with AI DMs (explaining the OGL, purchase of DNDB, hiring or programmers):

“Keys from the Golden Vault” is just a few weeks away — Amazon has a 2/21 release date. Has there been any more info/discussion about this? A cover photo? Is it tied to the movie at all, because of “heist”? Isn’t this unusual for a book to not have much of a publicity push before release?
