[GRIM TALES] Wulf Ratbane's SLAVELORDS of CYDONIA

"If I had a better idea what we were looking for down here, then I might be able to tell you whether that was a good idea," Rawley says. "What the hell is worth crawling into a dark hole with a bunch o' snakes?"

[GRIM TALES] Wulf Ratbane's SLAVELORDS of CYDONIA

Rawley peers into the water, then looks around the room. "Wonder what's in there?" he mutters to Bill. "You cover me." He steps up to the door in the western wall and tries to open it.

[GRIM TALES] Wulf Ratbane's SLAVELORDS of CYDONIA

"Of course, Ms. Nielson," Rawley says, putting away his notebook. It was always the same, he thought. They never wanted to talk about it. Hell, she'll probably kill me in my sleep just so she can dig through my guts.

[GRIM TALES] Wulf Ratbane's SLAVELORDS of CYDONIA

    T. Rawley jumps, not realizing he'd spoken aloud. "True account of the power to heal beyond potions of liquor and herbs," he mutters. "You damn right. She just pulled that man back from the Almighty with a few words and gestures." Then louder: "Ms. Nielson," he says, fumbling his notpad and...

[GRIM TALES] Wulf Ratbane's SLAVELORDS of CYDONIA

    T. Rawley felt frozen to the floor as his eyes caught what Brigitta was doing. A cold sweat dampened his armpits and trickled down his back. This is going to be the biggest story since the Goatman of Laredo.

[Grim Tales] Slavelords Of Cydonia [full]

Hey guys, I'll be away from September 30 to at least October 5, possibly through Oct 9. Going to the coast to fish (now that the hurricane has scoured the big warm pond clean). Feel free to move Rawley along as needed during that time.

Best D20 product for running a WWII game?

I highly recommend V for Victory, if you want to run a quick, lite campaign. If you're looking to run something more long-term, then Hell on Earth may be what you're looking for. It is d20 Modern-based. I haven't used this supplement, but I have read it, and it seems pretty sound. Weird Wars...

    D20 Modern: Legalities

What about a 'magic detector' you have to pass through before you go onto an airplane, and other places... wands of detect magic to pinpoint the location of your illicit magical item... interesting...

Recruiting for Blood and Guts: Modern Military PbP (done recruiting for now)

We drove with a piece of equipment that was basically an NVG (inserted into the center periscope on the driver's hole). IR will wash out that sight, but only if it's point directly at you. I should have said "with too much WHITE light, your goggles will wash out." I think the tank (not sure...

You are the head of a major network: Firefly vs the new Battlestar Galactica

Since network execs have to tie their stars to success, I'd go with BSG, since Firefly failed to draw enough of an audience to keep it on the air. As a fan, I'd still go with BSG. I only saw a couple of episodes of Firefly.

First time in the modern world.

I second both of these. Action is at least as extensible as d20 Modern, though it is not as well supported. And the bonus is that both rulesets are free, as in beer.

Recruiting for Blood and Guts: Modern Military PbP (done recruiting for now)

Night vision and the modern military... All the American crew-level night vision equipment is essentially "low-light vision" equipment (I was going to use the term active or passive, but I couldn't remember which is which). What this means is that you don't need additional lighting to operate...

    Hey RPG Objects!

I second the quality of products coming out of RPGO. I don't normally buy PDF products, but I've bought a couple of the samurai series and the entire B&G series in the last few months. Soon as I get a breath, I'll post a review over at silven.

    [d20 Modern] Morrow Project

Blood and Guts II looks like a good starting point if you're going to 'convert' Morrow, though there shouldn't be much to convert, since it's basically a setting with some kludgy rules.

    d20 modern character generator?

There's also pathguy's which is free: http://www.pathguy.com/d20modern.htm. It's a little kludgy, but it works fine if you're looking to generate something quickly.

"There's another passage down this way," Rawley says, flipping his cigarette into the pool. "Should we check out this pool?" OOC: Is the pool shallow? Deep? Roiling with evil?

[GRIM TALES] Wulf Ratbane's SLAVELORDS of CYDONIA

    T. Rawley blew a sigh and leaned against the wall trying to get his racing heart under control. He slid his pistol back into its holster and shakily rolled a cigarette.
