    Help me with a Contact

Also, considering that the character will become more versed in the paranormal as you go along, and in order to pinch off any "easy outs" that might occur, you might consider making his contact completely unrelated to the paranormal, but someone that can "connect the dots." For instance, a paid...

[Grim Tales] Slavelords Of Cydonia [full]

Hey Wulf, are you still brain-locked? Wondering if this game is dead.

The Unnamed True20 Star Wars Thread [Discussion for now, Recruiting Soon!]

As disable device skills used on traps are mitigated in D&D with class features, this could be mitigated with a feat or feats related to computer hacking. But, I'm not totally familiar with how True20 does it.

The Unnamed True20 Star Wars Thread [Discussion for now, Recruiting Soon!]

Looking good. Would you consider dropping Computer Use as a skill? Computers are so pervasive in the genre, it would seem to be just a tool (even masterwork) to add bonus points to whatever you're using it for (Knowledge, Piloting, Disable Device, etc). This was how Wulf does it in Grim Tales...

The Unnamed True20 Star Wars Thread [Discussion for now, Recruiting Soon!]

On thread. I'll post some rules ideas/suggestions once I've read through the True20 book. I have all the d20 Star Wars books.

    [d20 Past] Flintlock Firearms?

Not looking good for the rifled musket... Check out this: The problem with the rifle of the time was that loading it was a difficult and slow process. Because the ammunition had to fit inside the barrel tightly in order to fit in the spiral rifling grooves, soldiers had a tough job forcing...

Anyone interested in a True20 Star Wars PbP?

I'm in. I'd like to play a Bothan scoundrel/soldier type or a Bessalisk (sp?) tech dude. No Force problems for me! Or if aliens are a problem (in a 'canon' Rebellion era, they could be), a human version of either one.

Anyone interested in a True20 Star Wars PbP?

I'm down. I have True20, but no idea what the conversion would look like.

    [May] What are you reading?

Fiction: Feast for Crows (just finished) Halfblood Prince (just started) Comics: Conan Civil War and it's spawn. Gaming: Horror on the Orient Express (converting it...concepts, really...to Eberron). Non-fiction Scientific American (mag - Special edition on Time). Need some...

Star Wars - Some setting exploration

Also have a look at the Foundation series, if you haven't before, or if you haven't while thinking of Star Wars. It's got a lot of good instances of an Empire dying and dead. 500 years should just about do it. I would definitely keep the characters in constant and rising pain due to the...

[Grim Tales] Slavelords Of Cydonia [full]

May want to hold off a bit longer. There's an unconfirmed report that they may have a May 8th backup of the db.

Grim Hyborian Tales: Children of Ctaroc

OOC: We'll assume a held action until they get into range. Arnvahr and his men shamble up, heaving gouts of steam from their mouths. "How's this for fun, eh Poitainian?" he bellows. "Surprised I could catch this lot and bring them back, for sliding in the yellow streaks they left!" His...

Grim Hyborian Tales: Children of Ctaroc

Ongwi sinks the finely crafted handaxe into the glacier, and begins hacking out a good sized chunk of ice. The shadowy forms in the icy mist resolve into familiar forms. At the head of the charging Vanir is Arnvahr, his beard streaming over his shoulder. They are few, five or six, but behind...

[GRIM TALES] Wulf Ratbane's SLAVELORDS of CYDONIA

    T. Rawley's cigarette fell to the cavern floor, and he stood frozen for what seemed like an eternity, his hand clutching at the seemingly ineffectual pistol at his side. Bill's yell for cover and Brigitta's fevored scream of surrender flew through him, and images of the ambush at Vera Cruz...

    TSR Q&A with Gary Gygax

I had that set long before I played D&D... Imagine my surprise when I saw the "bullette" in the MM and went digging through my old toys and there it was along with the Rust Monster, and like you said... seemed like there was another one...

Grim Hyborian Tales: Children of Ctaroc

Two of my kids were involved in a pretty serious accident. They weren't hurt at all, like the whole "Unbreakable" not a scratch kinda scenario. But, we got a nightmare call on Thursday night that our kids were in the hospital 250 miles away. Wasn't fun. All is good now, though, and we can make...

Grim Hyborian Tales: Children of Ctaroc

Hey guys: I had a bit of emergency this weekend, that ended up being a 4-day emergency. I apologize for leaving you guys hanging. I'll get caught up tonight. Probably a good time to ask if everyone's going to be around on the holidays. I'm out of town and away from a computer from the 22nd to...

Grim Hyborian Tales: Children of Ctaroc

Mananga sees the same thing about the same time... Arturio's not on horseback. Mananga runs for 1 round less, but he's 120' per round at a run to Arturio's 60 feet a round [20' move, can only run triple due to armor] -- sorry, he's 100 yards out, so he and Ongwi are actually next to each other...
