    Darkvision through a telescope

It's 'she', not 'he'. ;) Well, okay, this is more of an 'it was late' thing. In my mind, I could see what I wanted to write, it didn't come out as well. This is how I'd DM it: Spot checks rules provide a -1 for every 10', with a telescope it's -1 for 20'. So, a DC spot check at 200'...

    Darkvision through a telescope

Again, you avoid part of the issue by noting that a Drow (in your example) might not notice something more than 100' away with a poor spot, yet don't provide your answer on the dwarf with the theoretic 1000 spot check... It doesn't matter at all what it would do for normal vision, because...

Wands and Mage Hand - Your opinion...

This is the same general idea as having to point your hand in the general direction of your target when casting something like a lightning bolt, magic missile, Enervation, or any other ranged attack spell. Just pointing the wand in your targets general direction is going to do nothing for...

    denied dex?

Actually, Feint is good to have even at higher levels. 1) Most monsters do *not* have Sense Motive. 2) Most higher CR monsters tend to have high attack bonuses, but not so high BAB... (For example, a Pit Fiend has a CR of 20 and a claw attack with a +30 to hit, yet only has a BAB of +18...

    Tongues

Well, having played a lot of spellcasters, I *definitely* see your line of reasoning. But, in actually comparing the spells, there are some significant differences. With CL, you only get one language, and you have to physically touch something or someone to *learn* the language for the...

monkey grip... is it worth it?

As has been mentioned before, two handed PA provides a -2 to hit with a +4 to damage, which is usually better than a random die from a larger weapon. Also, if you *needed* that extra bonus to hit, you don't have to use any Power Attack. However, with Monkey Grip, you're always taking a -2 to...

    Darkvision through a telescope

I tend to think the crux of the issue at this point is that Mistwell refuses to acknowledge (via specious arguements involving the Spot skill) that even if 'normal vision' does have a variable limit on its range, Darkvision has an absolute limit via creature type that posesses it. Even the...

    Untrained/trained Skills....Noooo!

Whoa! Hey now! 10 ranks in Profession: Sailor lets you take Dread Pirate! Don't tell me it doesn't allow you to do anything except roll for money... :p But seriously, I completely agree. I will *not* mourn the loss of profession skills. As far as I'm concerned, all PCs have ranks in...

    D&D 4E Women in 4E

I *completely* agree with this. I've seen some pictures by some artists in past and in current WotC products where the clothing has been *entirely* reasonable, yet the picture is absolutely *lifeless*. There's nothing worse than lifeless art, IMO, because it generally turns off everyone. And...

    D&D 4E Women in 4E

Quite true, but point being, she's pretty sexy even in full plate. And not, what's the term? Hookerplate Boobmail. (Not that I find anything wrong with that type of armor either.)

    D&D 4E Women in 4E

She's ... morally ambiguous.. In the panels before the one linked, she was ... with ... the two undressed gentlemen. In the panel following, she kills them both..

    D&D 4E Women in 4E

Well, her armor (link is work safe) is still fantasy but manages to 1) look almost like a real suit of armor, 2) cover most everything, and 3) lets her be pretty sexy. I'd make a paladin type character wearing something similar with no hesitation.

    Untrained/trained Skills....Noooo!

I love the SWSE Skill Rules. I always max the most important skills for my character, and that's what those rules emulate to me. I also like the PHB2 bard alternate ability, and the SWSE rules emulate that too. I'm hoping they will be similar.

    D&D 4E Women in 4E

I am, and I've played some pretty scantily dressed characters, including a barbarian/rogue (from Chult in a FR campaign) who dressed in a loincloth. And, one of the only reasons I actually put her in any kind of armor later on in the campaign was that I found a mini that I really liked where...

    Psionics Balanced?

We never found them to be overbalanced in our campaigns. YMMV.

Save-or Suck Spells, HP, and the Condition Track

Speculation based on SWSE. Sleep, for instance, could indeed be a spell that pushes someone to the end of the condition track, just like the force power Stun. I don't see that being unreasonable at all, it makes sense, and it keeps to Sleep knocking enemies out without killing them (running...

Pauldrons (and lamé). And while there are no *vital* organs there, having one's arm chopped off in a fight can be just as bad as getting sliced anywhere else..

    D&D 4E Women in 4E

I've been out of Exalted for quite some time (ever since WW pissed me off with their handling of one of the coolest RPGs I've found in a while, but I digress)... Anyway, I might just have to use that pic for the outfit of a new character I'm thinking of... :D

    So, about those halflings...

I love the 3rd Edition halflings. I never played an AD&D halfling, because I hated the 'furry feet' and heavy Tolkien infulence. I did play a halfling in Mystara, but there was a 'subrace' that basically looked like the 3rd Edition halflings. I also never played a Kender (even though they...
