    Rune magic in FRCS ...

Using Lesser Restoration as your example spell is where the problem lies. Since *anyone* can use *any* rune, you'd be better off putting other spells on the rune. Give the rogue or monk a rune of Silence and let them run to the enemy mage and watch the fun ensue. MD as mentioned above.. I...

Whats a reasonable AC at 10th level?

Just in our game the other day, one of our 9th level party members with a 33 AC (on full defense) was getting mauled (and ended up dying) by the BBEG (an ogre mage with about 6 class levels, 4 of which were Warlock levels). And the BBEG power attacked at least once that I recall and still hit...

Cost to add +1 ability to Specific Weapon

That's the ultimate issue. Since there's no specific ability listed for the "Echo" part in the 'Big List of Abilities', it does throw the wrench into the works. However, seeing as the ability is very dependent on a single class feature, were I to rule on it, I'd have no problem with saying...

Entangle - A Little Too Strong For A 1st Level Spell?

I agree, Primitive Screwhead. It's a 1st level spell. But, if you read some replies elsewhere comparing an item to Enervation...

Then, I really have no idea on what you're basing your argument in all honesty.

Sleight of Hand on Spell Component Pouches

I don't recall seeing it was a 1st level Rogue taking a 20th level Mage's pouch but, regardless. If it's not combat, it'd be an opposed Slight of Hand versus Spot check, and on a DC20 (regardless of the spot check) the Rogue could get it (provided it wasn't hidden) via the Slight of Hand rules...

    XP and defeating opponents

Okay.. I'll try to explain how XP by the book is handled, and maybe it'll become clearer to you. XP is given per victorious encounter, based on the difficulty of the encounter for the PCs to overcome. So, it doesn't matter if they have 20 encounters with 20 different bad guys, or 20 encounters...

Entangle - A Little Too Strong For A 1st Level Spell?

I agree with you, RC. In another thread, someone said a Tanglefoot bag was comparable to Enervation. By that line of reasoning, what would Entagle (or web) be equivalent to? I'm still waiting for people who claimed that (or agreed with that claim) to say what level spell Entagle or Web should...

    XP and defeating opponents

Okay, so basically, you're either ignoring or missing the section on encounter difficulty and XP, so there's really no further point in discussing it.

Sleight of Hand on Spell Component Pouches

It's not a Slight of Hand check.. it's a Sunder or Disarm attempt.

    XP and defeating opponents

Sorry, you really are reaching. "Driven Away" is the party fighting the lich until he's forced to Teleport and flees for his life, because staying would mean he'd be destroyed. Either through superior tactics or dumb lucky dice, the party put the hurt on the lich and *forced* him away, even if...

Entangle - A Little Too Strong For A 1st Level Spell?

To be honest, the GM can honestly control when Entangle can or can't be used. If there's no plants, roots, or trees about, the spell is pretty much useless. Dungeons, deserts, barren mountain passes, etc., all render the spell worthless. Don't get me wrong. When it works, it works well...

Entangle - A Little Too Strong For A 1st Level Spell?

There are some people who think a Tanglefoot bag is equivalent to a 4th level spell, so by that reasoning, Entangle must be equivalent to an 8th or 9th level spell. As for me, I think it's probably closer to a 2nd level spell, but definitely more powerful than a 1st.

    Entangle - Help Appreciated

Well, the roots/plants/grasses/whatever are anchoring the character to the ground, which is most decidedly an immobile object for the characters.

    Appropriate use of Spot check

Exactly. If two guards are walking their perimeter and not attempting to hide or move stealthily from tower to tower (or whatever) there's no need to roll. The spotting distances are usually pretty long for most open terrain. Maybe the OP should ask the DM if the players should start making...

If I critical hit on a natural 18 but need a 19 to hit do I still hit?

Um, if the only way the enemy could be hit was with a Natural 20 and that houserule was in effect (and I've played under that specific houserule with no qualms), why's the DM even letting the player roll again? And why would the rogue's *player* even be rolling again with all the other players...

    Urd character feasability ?

Just to make mention... You really can't drop the racial HD. The Urd may be LA+1, but it's ECL +3. The minimum character level for an Urd PC would be 4: 3 from being an Urd, plus 1 for the class level. It would also have 4 + (2 x Int Mod) Skill points to spend (minimum of 2), and one feat...
