    The "Bubble"

I actually meant that you should not be able to end your turn in a square occupied by a prone ally. It seems I was wrong. I still don't think there is a good reason for that rule when the ally is not helpless though. It will mostly be used for free shifts anyway, which seems unnecessary.

    The "Bubble"

In fact, you should not even allow entering into a prone character's square, unless he is dying or dead.

    [NSFW] Mind Your Surroundings...

Broken as written. Large or huge creatures should not take double, or triple damage from this.

    PMC fixes

The new feats that require PMC start to make it more viable. It may not be "as good" as normal paragon path, but it is getting close enough that you can consider it for some builds. For example the sorcerer PMC feat is pretty sweet. It adds your str or dex to arcane power damage (+2 extra at...

Best of the Best - Tactical Warlord.

I'd like to vote Genasi on this one, but I can't :(

    The "Bubble"

Yeah, I fully agree with the previous poster. One example why you should not use "lunge": PC uses encounter power on Enemy, in melee and adjacent, hitting and knocking him prone. Then he shifts back 1 square. Enemy's turn. The enemy is a monster with a good basic attack. He "lunges" and...

    The "Bubble"

The best workaround for prone, within the rules as written, is to crawl and attack (not getting up). It gives -2 to hit, but you do get to attack.

    Agile Opportunist and HBO

Also, remember that agile opportunist may or may not be used when you are forced to move by an ally. Rules for opportunity actions say that they are in response to *enemy actions*, so the feat might not trigger when you are pushed next to an enemy by your wizard or warlord. The official rule...

    The "Bubble"

I think readied actions only disappear when you start your next turn. We don't track combat rounds like you do (from first initiative to the last), we do it basically so that 1 full round is from the start of your turn to the start of your next turn. That is how it is intended in my opinion...

When is an enemy not an enemy?

I think a good way to do this is to have the "victims" act as enemies until they are "turned". So, if you have some kind of mind control or something like that, you can just have rules for it. Lets say it makes the victim and enemy as long as it is in effect. The mind control can be reversed...

Best of the Best - Leaders.

Artificers don't get a lot of votes because they are Eberron stuff. I would guess that less than half of the players voting have actually even used any eberron stuff at all. I voted for Valorous Bard. I think it has great potential and I also had one epic Valorous Bard/Warchanter in our party...

D&D 4E How to Build 4E Solo Adventures?

Couple of additional things that might work: If you want a single hero, you should try to make the single PC more powerful than normal in solo play. One way to do it is to make a "gestalt" character. Essentially a simple way that would be to make a character who gets double the amount of...

    Help for character build

A basic fighter could be very effective with rain of steel active. Tough job to escape him, and if you don't, it will hurt a lot. Add in ranger multiclass for extra damage, or cleric for a heal. Fighters also have some utilities for healing themselves, which could come very handy. Look for...

    DM needs advice

I sometimes struggle with similar issues. A character (or party) who overspecializes vs. one specific type of opponent is annoying because "milk runs" are boring. If you run normal encounters vs. this kind of groups, the special opponents will not be a challenge at all, leading to useless...

    A few rogue questions

You could also get proficiency in the parrying dagger, or get a magical "mage's weapon" parrying dagger that grants proficiency with itself. That would give you +1 to AC, along with the two weapon defense feat. This is just a replacing mechanism for a shield - although rogues would not want...

    Duel Wielding Implements - Clarifications

That is from the FAQ of PHB. Makes it kind of clear how it works. Some people don't like to use FAQ rulings, but in my opinion this is a decent way to handle it. EDIT: I also happen to think that this ruling means that you *ONLY* get to use properties from both, and the attack uses either...

    Implements and recurring damage

Control is what happens when all the enemies leave the area of the cloud, or refuse to enter it. The damage is the deterrent. If they all stay bunched up in the cloud, then you deserve to kill them easily. Or perhaps your party tactics are working as intended and they are keeping the enemies in...

The Shaman and some Feat Questions

In my opinion the shaman's spirit companion is not really there to absorb hits. It is just a special case of "dismissing it" if some monster gets tired of it standing in a doorway and bashes it with a high damage attack. I would ignore the SC in most cases, unless it is really preventing attacks...

    D&D 4E Disarm in 4E

I still think that a maneuver that is available to all (like bull rush, grapple etc.) should not be better than an encounter power (or most at-wills) for doing something that might happen often. They should be situational things.

    D&D 4E Disarm in 4E

Disarms are not broken at lower levels, since the difference in damage and hit bonus is much less. Later on the weapons get more crucial. Also, you did not have elites or solos, and you did not truly try to exploit the disarm so that one character disarms and another grabs the weapon or pushes...
