I did. This why I calculated both versions with and without martial advantage/pack tactics -> advantage.

    D&D 5E (2024) Monster Manual Errata up.

Lets hope they do another round soon. But at least they are willing to fine tune this time. Edit: luckily I get my physical books with special cover just to showcase and read through once. The rest is all d&dbeyond. And later german books.

    D&D 5E (2024) Hobgoblin warriors

Yes. Kept that. Comparable damage. Probably also advantage due to being hidden. But the stat block itself at least makes sense. No shield. Enough dexterity to wield a long bow. I had prefered two short swords however and no multiattack on the bow. But since you make two rolls to hit, not...

13 (+1) dex is all it needs. And it has only 12... Ok. That stat block is more than wrong in many ways.

    D&D 5E (2024) I have a Monster Manual. AMA!

I really would like to double check the math of monsters for them. I would even do it in my free time for free. And while we are at it I would even do some formatting and convenience checks that won't cost them money... ... like adding CR to monsters grouped by type and group. And some...

D&D General 2025 Rakshasa has a great stat block

I know. But it is a totally pushover. Even before that level. I know it should be an intrigue monster. But the 2014 monster can't do a lot except trying to suggest the party to go away... You don't have to affect the rakshasa to benefit from spells. Use defensive spells, buffs. Use good old...

    D&D 5E (2024) Hobgoblin warriors

No. Hit chance is way higher (advantage) or damage is way higher, because they git their extra damage only in those cases where they now have advantage. Lets compare damage in both cases: Assume PC with AC 16. Disregarding crits. Without advantage: 2014: 0.4*5.5 damage = 2.2 damage 2024...

    D&D 5E (2024) I have a Monster Manual. AMA!

Hierophant needs mage armor scrapped from stablock. Hobgoblins use a shield and longbow and long sword two handed. Their armor should be chain mail as it wears that on the picture. Poison should at least go down to 2d4. Maybe ancient red dragon should have a level 3 command spell, not level 2.

They instead multiattack. Maybe hitting fast does not allow doubling damage dice ;) And maybe they lose some posion whirling their blades...

D&D 5E (2024) Class Tags in the new MM

I also like them. And I think elementals should get a tag for what kind of elementals they are...

Not any ranged attack, 150 ft ranged attack, outranging most PCs. It is totally TPK material.

    D&D 5E (2024) Lycanthropes in the MM

I would be ok, if they regen while they are bloodied and shape shifted. I don't like most monsters that just undo everything you did.

    D&D 5E (2024) Hobgoblin warriors

Yeah... baffling. I did not see that. No, the hobgoblin stat block as is is not really usable. Drop the shield. Drop AC by 2. Use chain mail. Use sane damage. It is still CR 1/2. They are even depicted with chain mail, not half plate. I seriously expect them to get a little erratum (which...

    D&D 5E (2024) I have a Monster Manual. AMA!

I like the +2 stats. I even like the +1 stat of hobgoblins. If they did not feel compelled to give them 2d10+1 damage in melee. I also think goblin minions should only have +1 in their stats and better weapons than daggers. 1d4+2 damage is nothing to sneeze at. Especially if you allow them to...

D&D General 2025 Rakshasa has a great stat block

I don't think the new one is less powerful in general. The one time I used the rakshasa (in 2014) they were a pushover by a level 6 party that included a paladin and a barbarian. You juut had to resist the mind affecting spells and the rakshasa can't defend themselves. With twice as much HP...

    D&D 5E (2024) Lycanthropes in the MM

The problem is that puzzles don't work if everyone knows how to solve it anyway. Back then, monster stats were kept a secret. Was part of the fun. Today every player can google.

Monsters & More: An In-Depth Review of the 2025 D&D Monster Manual

I think in some places they deliberately did not overwrite the MM stat blocks. They seem good enough to be used in 5.24.

We will see. But it definitely is an upgrade over 2014! A significant one. Everything else would be a lie.
