    D&D 5E (2024) Can A Spell Caster Out Damage a Martial Consistently?

One person's boring is the other person's interesting. You seem to not like asymmetric design or resource management. I did nkt like 4e for doing away with that. Woooo. You seem to misunderstand me. I question your asserion what the intended design is. Please show me the quote where a...

    D&D 5E (2024) Can A Spell Caster Out Damage a Martial Consistently?

Ok. So the warlord was just: "if there was a martial healer that recovers resources on a long rest, there is also a martial that cries for long rests and so it is not only spellcasters?" I guess, if you play the game where spellcasters don't conserve their resources and always go nova and...

    D&D 5E (2024) Can A Spell Caster Out Damage a Martial Consistently?

The warlord ran at the same resource schedule as the cleric. So I don´t see any reason to bring up the warlord into this discussion.

    D&D 5E (2024) Can A Spell Caster Out Damage a Martial Consistently?

I am looking forward to test level 5 amd how extra attack and 3rd level spells, or the rogue's uncanny dodge and cunning action will change things. I don't expect short rest/no rest classes to be worse than at level 4. I think 5.24 works better than 5.14. Weapon masteries did a lot to help the...

    D&D 5E (2024) Can A Spell Caster Out Damage a Martial Consistently?

This week I was impressed how balanced the game at level 4 felt with a bard, a cleric, a warlock, a fighter and a rogue who carried on after a medium to hard fight, taking a short rest and took on a hard to deadly fight afterwards. In the first fight to to some bad luck, full casters spent...

Goodman Games Offers Assurances About Judges Guild Royalties

Probably not. But at least you get a product now with a discount, right?

Dungeons & Dragons Announces Horror Subclasses Unearthed Arcana

I like all those subclasses. They are way better balanced and written than the old respective subclasses of 5.14 and also better balanced than the last batch of UA subclasses (genie paladin cough cough)

D&D 5E (2014) Drawbacks to Increasing Monster AC Across the Board?

You can do it on monsters below CR1. And in that way increase their CR to the next step. Monsters with around 15 to 25 hp work well. Above that and they can get very hard to kill.

D&D General How would you feel if Official Adventures only covered 3 levels?

My problem is that after a few days of in game time, you are surpassing everyone around you... In power and in wealth. Yes, adventurers are special. But I wish, adventures have more down time in between.

D&D 5E (2024) Bonus action minor illusion (wizard illusionist 3rd level ability) creating cover and halflings

Minir illusions don't let them explain it themselves. This is the phantasmal force spell.

    D&D 5E (2024) Variant Human idea

If people would play darkvision in 5e correctly, humans would not need it. Darkvision makes darkness to dim light. In which most creatures can sneak up to you.

    D&D 5E (2014) Arcane Recovery strategy

1st and 3rd level slots tend to be comparatively powerful spell levels.

    D&D 5E (2024) I attack the darkness!

It though about this rule a lot. I think I would generalize it and add some "super (dis-) advantage". If you have this, it can only be canceled by another source of super x. I'd probably make darkness super disadvantage and the lucky feat super advantage. I am sure with the former and not so...

    D&D 5E (2024) I attack the darkness!

I think on the battlefield, you should leave pieces at the last known positions.

    D&D 5E (2024) I attack the darkness!

Yes But in the darkness you can disengage for free and use the hide action. Then your location in 5.14 was hidden.

    D&D 5E (2024) Sage Advice Compendium Updated To 2024

Thanks. But I will still ignore it. Having calculated it through, allowing it to work on all extra dice actually makes it a decent choice. On par with duelling.

    D&D 5E (2024) Sage Advice Compendium Updated To 2024

The Great weapon fighting advice is copy paste from the old rules.not even correct. As I see it, sage advice shoupd be ignored once again.

    D&D 5E (2024) What would Olive Ruskettle's class be in 2024?

She is a straight rogue with entertainer background at most. Probably charlatan background fits even better.

No. This is still OP. Sorry. Just situationally OP. It is not OP vs PCs. It is OP as a familiar.
