Finished 'The Androids dream' yesterday. Lots of fun. Back to 'The Singing Sword', and then afterwards, I'm thinking of reading Scalzi's other book, 'Agent to the Stars.' (Since I've now read everything he's written so far aside from that.)

"Children of Hurin' came in. I'm not sure about it. I'll finish it, to be sure, but it just doesn't seem the same. Something is a bit 'off' in the telling. Maybe because now it's Christopher and Adam Tolkien doing the work (as opposed to just Christopher, too many cooks?).

Well, I'm done with Scalzi, and I just finished Dean Koontz' 'Forever Odd.' I'm not in a hurry to pick up 'Brother Odd' yet, so that leaves me between books. What now? I've placed an order for 'Children of Hurin', but who knows how long it will take the library system to free a copy for me...

I was in a similar boat. My dad kept recommending it to me. I finally read the entire series a couple of years ago. Once I started I couldn't put it down. I will say that I found the second series (books 6-10) a bit flat by comparison. Of course, I still went out and bought all 10 books...
