The Best Core only Warrior builds?

If you want to go the Wepons focus/Specialization/Mastery tree, take four levels of fighter. Otherwise I would jsut go with the barbarian and get the cooler barbarain abilities. I do think the rogue suggestions are good, as they lose very little BAB, and if your con is high the hit point loss...

The Best Core only Warrior builds?

I'm not so sure of that. Yes, it does make Fighter 4 more attractive, but amny builds took it already for the 3 feats. The problem there is that most of the cool feats are only BAB dependent, but not fighter level dependent.

Would blending rangers and barbarians fix what is wrong with barbarians?

I see no reason to "fix" either class, as both are excellent examples of how I think a class should be built, thought I would probably drop the Ranger's BAB to medium. Both have a strong niche (the ranger's far broader of course) and different ways of being played. I would keep both of them in...

    Gear Matters

And that is how I see magical items in D&D. They give you the ability to deal with problems easier, like high Ac, High hit points, DR, resistances, and so on. OIn otehr gmaes these are intrinsicto characters like the monk has the various Ki strikes to get through DR. And some of the Bo9S...

    Gear Matters

Then why have magic items been th neglected stepchild of the supplement for 3 years? There have been far far more supplements for feats, prestige classes etc than magic items. The Complete Series is almost completely useless from a magic item standpoint.

Draconomicon, Races of the Dragon, and Dragon Magic - Which to Buy?

If you want to be SURE your BBEG dragon slaughters the party, buy Draconomicon. There is a significant power-up hiding in there. But it is an excellent books. If you want a more draconic feel , including a lot of useful alternate class features and eats, then Dragon Magic is for you. I woud...

    Stat Booster Angst

With Multiclassing, feats that switch ability scores to other saves and such, getting high saves is child's play even without putting magic items into the mix. How easy is it for Mages? And the only magic items that really do it are the overpowered stat boosters. That is my point. I think yuou...

    Stat Booster Angst

I'm in the camp of stat. booster-haters. They give far too much bang for their buck. Compare them to any other item of comperable worth and the amount of effective feats, spell levels and bonuses they give is just crazy. And the problem jsut gets worse at higher levels. Whereas a +6 on a 14 is...

What RACE has changed the least through the various editions?

Yes humans All the other races saw serious power increases. Except in the area of multi-classing which ws incredibly broken in 2E.

Generic Human Warblade 1: Feat Elimination Round 1

Amen. All those selections are seriously sub-optimal. Warblade is a fighter, not a skill monkey.

    D&D 3.x Monk 3.5

If you don't take it as a bonus feat, you have to wait forever to get it otherwise. Improved Grapple can be picked up anytime with a regular or fighter feat. Waiting till BAB+8 is a long time.

I am stumped & need help with lvl 20 character

For a simpler build go: Scout 9/Sorceror 1/GSA 10. Or actually anything 9/Sorc 1/GSA 1 to get you the ability to repair yourself. Make sure you take repair at first level (won't really need it at higher levels unless you want to cast it in combat, which you probably don't) so you can spend...

    D&D 3.x Monk 3.5

Get stunning fist and use it.... a lot. Get a Monk's belt ASAP Bracers of Armor are a must Get a high strength, so you can actually hit and deal reasonable damage Multiclass from level 2 on in something more useful <--- I had to say it

    A Non-PHB only game?

I think it is an excellent idea, running an no-PHB campaign. There are enough races, classes and other things out there to make it an interesting game. Would be interesting to see how the players deal with creation and challenges without the old standby classes and races

    Locked/Trapped Doors--Identifying and Disabling

I generally let the rogue find out traps and locked/unlocked status with a single roll. Plus anything else interesting like writing or glyphs. And yes, they have to get within 10 feet, so not much room to dodge is something goess off in their face.... As for crouching, standing squatting, or...

A Creature Level Adjustment Question for Your Enjoyment

Why not call him a bugbear by any other name? Cut the stat bonuses down to PHB Race levels. Maybe +2 Str, -2 Cha and give him the +2 to move silently and the +1 natural armor and darkvision. Then call him a PC race. LA +0 for the above would work for me.

    Interpretations or House Rules

A player in one of my games asked the question quoted at the top and I replied with the section below. What is the line for you? How do you feel about my breakdown in to the three areas? > First from a non rules centered guy what is the difference between > interpretation and house rule. It is...
