Red Hand of Doom - I feel like a butcher...

I think Red Hand can be lethal, and I am kind of looking forward to the expeditions I intend to buy (All but Ravenloft, actually). My party died at the end of the second part becasue they went back to fight the black dragon one too many times. He was hurt, they were hurt, buyt the Dragon had a...

Dungeon Tiles. Anyone used them at length yet?

We ahve been usingthem in the Shattered Gates module, and they ahve been useful, but also a pain, as the tiles do nothae mundane things like desks, chairs and beds etc in a moveable format. Some tiles have them permenantly marked, but trying to indicate a room with lots of beds in it is odd. I'm...

    What does the fighter need...

I think the fighter needs several things 1. More BAB than other full BAB classes. +1 a level is fine, until you see the Barbarian, Ranger, Duskblade and such get it also, plus lots of cool abilities on the side. 2. More class abiities at medium/high levels. Sorry, but pure feats does not make...

    The Player Puzzler's Guild

LOl, too true. I am not a fan of reallife puzzles at all. I prefer metagame ones the characters can solve OOC and perform IC. My latest one was three screens of the Prismatic wall set in an anti-magic corridor. (Well, anti-magic except for a bare foot in front of each screen, so spells could...

    Con Adventures

Why not play a piece of an adventure? I have seen lots of scenes in the Adventure paths that would make great one-shots. No expereicne in cons for me though, so YMMV.

Should I be worried about this build.

Yes, it is a dangerous build, especially as undead are not immune to illusions, just mind affecting magic (yes, there is a big difference) The link a couple of posts above shows this. I'd be really wary fo a player who treid to foist a char-op build over on me.

    Ghost as a PC

Maybe for you it has, but for me a ghost is still a scary opponent, not a character class.... Same for evil people and creatrues

    Ghost as a PC

What a sad statement. I hope it never gets that way for me.

    half-celestials

I would judge that removing wings would make for a +3 LA. This particular LA+3 is going to be brutal for any class, from wizard to powerhouse.

"Now You all know The bards and their songs..."

Bards are excellent Multi-class characters with anything but a pure spellcaster or a heavy armor fighter. Nice saves, good skill points and some nice arcane and divine spells makes them fun. Swashbuckler 3/Bard 4/??????xx is an excellent character. And only one BAB down by 7th level.

Any DM's not allowing Spiked Chains?

I personally was very fond of the 2E Oritental adventures wehre you could use a strip of cloth as a spear. With the right training of course. Now there was an easy-to-conceal weapon.

    Best Gestalt Combos?

If you do a search you will see multiple threads on just this topic.

How Do You Scan These Threads?

But to answer: I usually skim the first pages of Rules and General, occasionally going into Seeking Players and House rules, but only once a month or so for each. So , yes, I only see a fraction of Enworld. I rarely look past the first page unless I am looking for a specific thread I want to...

When are rogues "really" necessary anymore? if at all...

Rogues are still the prime skill-users in the game, outshining all other 8 skill points per level classes (and 6 for that matter) Bards can be a face, and Scouts have stealth down pat, but Rogues can do both. Rogues have at least 4 distinct skill sets to put points into, and they can excelle at...

    1st Level Gestalt for background

True, especially because of the quadrupuling of skill points. A rogue/fighter vs a fighter rogue is going to be very different skill wise.

Sorry, not buying this book this time, so at least my preview is not happening. (I did Complete Scoundrel and Mage)

    Most broken prestige classes?

Must have been a quick campaign as Complete Mage has only been out a few months.

    1st Level Gestalt for background

I see no reason to give a bonus feat. If they insist on fighter/warrior, then they deserve what they get. It would be workable, but why bother with gestalt? Just tell them they have 6 or so skill points they can only spend on craft/profession/knowledge or some such.
