Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

It took a min for my brain to shift to Star Trek after reading that. All I could think at first was…

I’d be fine giving energy zero stability impact on account they don’t need ammo nor risk explosion. Seems like a nice buff that Ammo weapons need.

    Battletech Public Playtest Thread

You can aim with targeting computers! (though Im a curmudgeon about their existence). Though, when you say "the video games" you gotta clarify that the video games are Mechwarrior and the table top is Battletech. In the former you can take out 24 mechs and over 30 vehicles single-handedly, not...

Are you ready for some Football (Americano)!

NFC West pretty deceptive. All those teams could easily be 0-2. Then again, I dont really see any dominate team besides Bills and Ravens yet. Probably a byproduct of weeks 1-3 being the new preseason. GB, as much as I hate to say it, is actually looking pretty solid.

    Genre Discussion: Cyberpunk

CP doesnt always have to be punks from the start. I like the working stiff, cog in the machine, that is thrust into the heart of a conspiracy and decides to go punk story just as much.

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

In general, thats true. With some authors who are really good at it, and some who are not so good at it.

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

Yeah, Heinlein often tried to write about complex ideas in thought intriguing ways. Problem is he was very clumsy with the topics and never really explored them in anything but the most basic levels. a common theme throughout many of his 'just writing stories" career.

    Genre Discussion: Cyberpunk

I was in a very short lived CP game a few years ago. The players and I were trying to come up with some pretty clever solutions to achieving our job goals. The GM basically railroaded us into fights every single time. One of the last sessions I even remember the GM saying something along the...

D&D General Kitchen sink setting or narrow genre focus for long-running campaigns (2,5,10+ years)

One thing that will drive some folks absolutely nuts is that even regular PF Golarion has some setting spanning mysteries that are never intended to be solved (at least by the publisher).

    Witcher change up?

After last season I’m less concerned about the switch. Felt like the show has gone down hill.

The APs are like a slice of the Golarion pie. If you want the whole thing you need to go PFS.

D&D General Kitchen sink setting or narrow genre focus for long-running campaigns (2,5,10+ years)

I've come to prefer narrow focus and about 2 years to complete. Playing every other week. I have never been in a single campaign either way that lasted more than 2 years (though I had the same group for 10 years running numerous 2 year campaigns). I will denote that you can have kitchen sink...

D&D General Why do people like Alignment?

Right, the chaos being unpredictable anarchy has always been confusing to me. Not sure how any being could last more than a day living in such a caricature like way. Law as a label for the concept is alright, but chaos is pretty bad for what its supposed to represent.

    Genre Discussion: Cyberpunk

Oh West World...dont get me started.... I loved the philosophical puzzle box of the first two seasons, and then season three... S3 felt to me like sci-fi James Bond it was a rather jarring narrative and tone change. After accepting it for what it is, I still enjoyed it. It didnt scream cyberpunk...

    Battletech Public Playtest Thread

Playtest report 2. So today was a 7 player narrative campaign game I created. I am basically adapting the Carver V campaign from Mechcommander II. Today was the Legion tank mission (which was pretty exciting with the side table rules). Players had to locate a spy while dodging patrols and then...

D&D General 3rd party RPGs using the 5e engine: which ones are your favorite?

Carbon 2185 was fun. Im not worried about getting 5E right, so ill take quite a bit of variation. In Carbon, it only goes to level 10 and im sure there are other adjustments im forgetting.
