D&D campaigns always start at 1st-level, baby. More modern games (like CoC d20) may start higher - around 3rd-level.

The only books I use every D&D session are the 3.5 PHB and Monster Manual. I use the DMG regularly, but not *every* session we have.

Thanks! Not necessarily. The way I see it, while it may be rooted in place it can still bend a little, move a branch, etc. The plant attacks with a stalk, so we know it can move, it just can't move all that well.

Loved the module, still love yuan-ti, hated the map. Sure, it looked all nice and purty but trying to explain a 3-D map to your players is an exercise in futility. I remember the "mapping delays" throughout the adventure as I was transcribing the map into a 2-D representation on graph paper.

Got it last Tuesday, watched the movie (or the extras) every day since.

Amen, brother. Lately I'm finding that the power level possible in "normal" 3rd edition campaigns is becoming too excessive for my tastes. Conan allows for some badass PCs, but the players cannot become complacent, cause a Scholar or demon can still cause 'em a world o' hurt.
