    You know...

Which is funny cause on Noonan's blog he can't stop talking about WoW. So it's no surprise to see why we're getting a WoW-ified 4th Ed. Honestly, at this point I wouldn't be surprised if WotC tried to put in a PvP instance for Pomarj or something in their D&D Insider client.

D&D 4E FR 4E SPOILER - Grand Histoy of the Realms info

FR is by far my most favorite D&D world to play in. Bar none, but with Dragonlance close to it. Greyhawk's fine too but FR's always been the one I keep coming back to. But all good things come to an end, or "jump the shark," or at least provide a jumping off point before things get bad...

D&D 4E FR 4E SPOILER - Grand Histoy of the Realms info

You wacky kids and your murder gods these days... In my day we didn't have any fancy murder gods. It was fertility god this, river god that... and that's the way it was and we LIKED it! *shakes his old man stick in crotchety defiance*

Mystra dying... cause, ya know... we've never seen that before... :\

    DDO is dead!

I surely hope so. Someone sorely needs to capitalize on FR as an MMO setting. I remember thinking, every time I walked into Stormwind in WoW or Qeynos in EQ2... "Damnit, this should be Waterdeep."

D&D 4E We likes our dwarven women kinda furry! (aka 4e beards)

There's a dwarven female leader (I wanna say shield dwarves) in the Douglas Niles Moonshae novels that's bearded. Name escapes me right now.

Warforged: Like them or loathe them?

Kender belong in Dragonlance. Warforged belong in Eberron. Neither should be in the PHB. What happens in Greyhawk stays in Greyhawk.

I didn't call him a bad DM. I said allowing a game to drag because of part of the rule set is poor DM'ing. That's not at all the same thing. But since I am new here, I will acquiesce. Allowing a game to drag over a rule that is easily wingable is top-notch DM'ing. :) Thanks.

It's entirely, 100% fair to say that. Ultimately it's the DM's job to control the flow of the game. If something's clunky then it's time to find a work around or to simplify it - or even to wing it in the middle of a game. If a game is slow or clunky then that all comes back to the DM...

If grappling rules are grinding your combats to a halt then that's extremely poor DM'ing. I also enjoy Ravenloft - I just don't want to have to keep buying the damn thing over and over.

This is something that I think will hold many back from moving to 4.0 - because 3.5 is manageable and because there's eight tons of source material out for it now and it's all still relatively new. All those 3.5 Ed. sourcebooks that folks have paid $30 - $35 a pop for might wind up coming back...

That's not what I meant. I know the podcasts have roughly had, more or less, a monthly schedule since they came out a year ago.

As to what is and what isn't working in 3rd Ed... err, 3.5th Ed... most folks have already addressed this in their own games and found ways to move past the parts that don't work, or at least that don't work in their campaigns. It's what good DM's do. On a side note - I chuckle to myself at...
