I think magimarts have their place when using 3.5e or Pathfinder, which are really hybrid point buy/class systems. The ability to spend a currency to 'purchase' additional abilities and combine them is a large part of their appeal.

A new setting that uses the anime Delicious In Dungeon and the book where an orc opens a coffee shop as touchstones, or maybe poles, would be nice.

I DM and I strip official modules for parts like they were stolen cars. In my current 5e campaign, I've found Candlekeep Mysteries, Tales From the Yawning Portal, and Tomb of Annihilation useful.
