    Alignment changes ...

I'm hoping that alignment has nothing to do with your outlook or behavior, but is merely an indicator of which side you are on in the end. If You Know What I Mean.

    D&D 4E Idea for Necromancer in 4e

Emphasis on "crazy." Even in Conan dealing with the dead is a Bad Idea. Dealing with the dead should never be white. At best we are looking at black arts used for noble causes, but it should never be forgotten that a "good" necromancer is walking a razor's edge for his abilities.

    D&D 4E Idea for Necromancer in 4e

I'm of the opinion that the "whitest" a necromancer should get would be along the lines of Amethyst wizards or priests of Morr from Warhammer. They may be on our side, but they are still terrifying people who deal in dark and unpleasant forces from the other side of Life. With luck shadowfel...

Will you laugh or cry at the gnomes' good-bye party?

Oh no. I'll have to go to another book I'm already going to buy to get gnome info. Whatever shall I do.

New Design & Development: Paladin Smites!

I'm hoping that the PHB has a small paragraph at the beginning saying something like "Smites primarily call upon divine power to deal extra damage to enemies. However, the divine power will often bleed into secondary effects designed to aid the paladin and his allies in combat." I'm also...

Races & Classes details from the WotC boards

So humans correspond to White, dwarves to Red, elves to Green. Dragonborn may be a red/white mix, halflings sound blue/green and tieflings may be some sort of black? ... : runs :

    And the mystery race is...hated

If they can't make reptilian work at high levels without resorting to fire breath and wings then I shudder to think what they will do to make humans competitive.

    And the mystery race is...hated

Granted that this is a way I expect them to go. However, if racial talents are as modular as I'm hoping that there are other options to make them more lizardy and not as dragony. I've never banned a single thing from a PHB. I'd hate to start now, but this might be it. 4e is sounding more and...

    And the mystery race is...hated

If they are easily remade as lizardfolk of somekind then I'll be.... okay. If they have built in advancement with breathing fire or anything that is intrinsically draconic then I'll be rolling my eyes and setting them aside. It isn't such a big deal, but it is certainly a "what the..." moment.

    D&D 4E Great idea for 4E!

"Dodge" isn't exactly an option for that guy on the floor though... and nobody else in the pic seems to need it. ;) Nifty card, just an odd choice of art.

    Design & Development: Quests

No. Not in the least. If the game the DM has planned out involves going through a dwarven mine rather than over some mountains, it is more obnoxious to say "We don't care about the work you've done... we want to go over." It is in fact NICER of the GM to say "Key milestones will be rewarded...

    Everymen from Everywhere

Just as an aside, "Antilles" in Star Wars is supposed to be a very common last name like "Smith." there is a joke between Lucas and Spielberg that there is a relic hunter in the galaxy who goes by the name of Coruscant Antilles. Also, 007 was named James Bond because it was the most boring...

    Design & Development: Quests

You have the components of the cross correct, but have neglected the ritual of the Red Circles and the application of the Sinister Tabule. ;)

    Design & Development: Quests

TANGENT! Dungeoneer is a fun little game where this sort of thing can happen with hilarious results. In one game two players had a quest that involved the same room. One had to get a book and drop it into a chasm. They other had to save a virgin and get her to the exit. The player needing...

    Design & Development: Quests

The playstyle doesn't rely on them, but doesn't have to detract from them either. Encounter based design as it is in SWSE does nothing against a long session. In fact, I've noticed the opposite since at the end of four hours resources of the party are strained, but not exhausted. Both...

    D&D 4E Great idea for 4E!

To be honest though, ability cards work very well in SWSE. My players enjoy having their hand of abilities and always knowing what they can or can't do and exactly what the rules say about it right at their fingertips. We have multiple copies of some of them and I can see very well how having...

    Design & Development: Quests

I actually might buy one of the ballcaps with a yellow "!" to put on when something important is happening and everybody is arguing about pizza. Or perhaps use the quest cards from Dungeoneer as supplements.
