10 years later: NOW is it time to use MTG IP with D&D?

I don't buy MtG cards, but I'd buy MtG sourcebooks. Easy.

    D&D 4E Necromancers in 4e

Nitpick about translations... The word necromancy derives from the Greek νεκρός (nekrós), "dead", and μαντεία (manteía), "divination". By popular etymology, nekromantia became nigromancy "black arts." Not that it matters... ;)

D&D Cosmology: the old and the new. Where do you stand?

Sounds more like a transitive plane. Like shadow and etherial are.

    Untrained/trained Skills....Noooo!

Probably a good thing SWSE is a specific variant of early 4e then, tuned to Star Wars rather than D&D. We can get a rough idea what 4e might look like from checking out SWSE, but it has been altered to fit a specific cinematic style. While I hope that skill ranks are gone forever, there are...

    Devils should be beneath Shadowfell

I'm sure that is their argument too. To destroy faith and hope, replacing it with greed and ambition. A brief lifetime of temporal power and then an eternity of slavery.

    Untrained/trained Skills....Noooo!

I hate skill ranks in D&D with a burning passion. I've seen so many people who couldn't perform basic tasks at half their capacity because they insisted on making their skill ranks match their characterization. Great. You'd successfully modeled a 10th level rogue who can't pick a cr5 lock...

    Devils should be beneath Shadowfell

Which makes the contract more terrifying actually. You never know for sure what will or won't happen when you die, but if you are tempted to make an infernal pact then you can be certain of being dragged to the Hells when you pass on!

    Devils should be beneath Shadowfell

Why is this not possible? Why not have infernal contracts give the ability to pull the bound souls from the shadow through fissures just like you want? Personally, I'd leave most of the standard wicked souls to be diverted to Hel's domain or Nerull or whoever, but leave devils the task of...

    Cosmology Part II

Considering that one of the things you can find in the Tempest is a grim fortress monastery of githzerai adepts I'd say that githzerai at least are going to go over there. I'm betting on slaadi too.

D&D 4E Slight Rant on 4E FR So Far and Where It May Go [SPOILERS]

They're WHAT?!?! Those MISERABLE caluminous crook-pated malcontent mangled swag-bellied wagtail MOTHERFoh... wait... you didn't mean... sorry.

    Devils & Demons= Yozis & Neverborn?

It is similar, but I'd say that the flavor of them all are slightly different. Perhaps not so much Malfeans and Devils, but Demons and Neverborn are a bit different. Servants of demons are looking for power to obliterate their enemies. Servants of the Neverborn are looking to end the painful...

    D&D 4E 4E Devils vs. Demons article

No, but that is because their names are still remembered. In Exalted the generic term primordials is used because the names of the beings were warped, changed and destroyed during their defeat. It is useless to call them by their original names because they don't have original names anymore...

    D&D 4E 4E Devils vs. Demons article

Or any other creation myth where an orderly world is brought out of chaotic matter. It doesn't have to be the big bang, just the frothing mass out of which the world was brought. It was always there and will always be there.

    D&D 4E 4E Devils vs. Demons article

Primordial just means existing first: existing at the beginning of time or of the development of something. The primordials in Exalted, the Titans in greek myths, the things in forgotten realms that I can't remember.. Scaled Ones I think, Demon Rajahs and Progenitor Dragons in Eberron, Tiamat...

Okay, this whole "points of light" thing . . .

And things from the mournlands come out of the mournlands, things from Khyber come up from Khyber, things from Droaam filter in from Droaam, manifest zones to terrible places lay in wait for the unwary and all manner of possibilities. Eberron doesn't show up right away as POL, but you don't...

    Gravity

Not straight down and go splat, no. Freak wind, branches, haycarts that were off screen, sliding down the cliffside instead of plummeting through the air and alien aircraft scooping them up and crashing back down after a high speed interplanetary police chase would all be fair assumtions for...

    Gravity

Sometime when I play D&D I will absolutely want to emulate this. High level characters will fling themselves off cliffs like lemmings, confident in the fact that they will be pretty combat worthy when they land.
