    Eberron in a nutshell

For more information than we can effectively post, the wikipedia is actually very good. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eberron

    How to un-cheese D&D?

Is it too late to make a "and for the next article, how to un-tortilla a burrito!" joke? Yeah, thought so. Ah well. ;)

Motor oil protects against hobgoblins with battleaxes

Which is what they were back in the day too. Traditionally the 'hob' prefix means something like helpful or friendly. One derivation of hobnob is something like "friendly noble" as in somebody who is rich trying to associate with the lower classes.

    Dungeons and Discworlds !?!

You are correct sir! Discworld RPG includes GURPS lite which is just about all you need unless you want to get more indepth with wizards and stuff.

Dragon #354 cover (hot modron action)

Um... those guys are still around. they are the higher up modrons, these are base modrons. Are there beter examples of these "organic" modrons out there? I've seen lots of Modron art and to my experience it comes in the flavors of classic line drawings without much detail and Planescape...

    Dungeons and Discworlds !?!

Okay then. For the most part though you've been talking about D&D conversions, not D20. I'll agree with these statements here, because D20 is a fairly robust game system to build things around.

    Dungeons and Discworlds !?!

This post written at work. Please forgive rambling. The Disc may have hundreds of gods, but most of them don't really matter as they are either small gods with at most one pile of rocks somewhere in a remote area or are simply different outfits the same god wears. Blind Io is a prime example...

    Dungeons and Discworlds !?!

As well as removing all spellcasting ability, turn/rebuke (except for the possibility of some traditionally minded vampires) and shapechanging ability. And it would be profession, Stone Circle Programmer.

    Eberron...is it worth picking -up?

I'm not sure that they even claim to have discovered undeath actually, just that they have a much more pragmatic outlook on it ("Yeah, it sucks and is creepy, but it beats oblivion till we figure something else out"). Orcus might have a claim to fame that he was the only one who managed to...

    Dungeons and Discworlds !?!

Not only does it have its own wonderfully illustrated (some original pieces, just for the game) hardback, but it also has a supplement (diskworld also) to go with it. Even if you don't play GURPS at all the book is an excelent resource for gaming on the Disk and pokes fun at roleplaying in...

What are your thoughts on ANIME's influence on D&D?

The rest of your post aside, this bit here is mostly the fault of american translators trying to put together low budget voice overs as close to a deadline as possible.

    Eberron...is it worth picking -up?

Yeah, I can see that. The Devils, Demons and Loths are still separated for the most part. The first two are fighting each other in an endless conflict that echos War across the universe and the Lolths are over there in the realm of eternal Darkness plotting their plots and scheming their...

    Eberron...is it worth picking -up?

It helps a bit (at least for me) if you don't think of Khyber merely as Underdark, but almost as a seperate transitive plane all by itself. Keith has mentioned on the boards that Khyber is almost a wholly unnatural place and that the prisons of the Rajahs and other ancient evils are very often...

    Factotum from Dungeonscape

So the factotum does what, defeats his enemies by summoning a horde of bri... never mind. I thought I could keep a straight face, but I just can't. ;)

My D&D Game would suffer without Anime!!!!

Actually, I meant to compare it to kinds of movies because it is set up from a different cultural perspective. Some people don't dig on the sub culture of horror fandom or fantasy or whatever and some people have a bit of a disconnect because of the different perspective between America (or...

My D&D Game would suffer without Anime!!!!

That is the main problem though. Not much gets exported or put on regular television. What usually does get over here though is created almost specifically for early adolecent boys and hacked up and mangled by hasty translation and strange editing. There is LOTS of good anime out there, it...

My D&D Game would suffer without Anime!!!!

Wait... you claim to have seen the best the "genre" has to offer and your comment is that it is "poorly animated with pubescent rape fantasies?" Two things are very wrong with this. One, anime is a medium and not a genre. At best it is generally considered a style. It covers everything from...

    Ur-priest (*sigh*) for antihero campaign.

What book is the Ur Priest in and would it mesh at all well mechanically with a Dread Necromancer? It is a gestalt game I am thinking of, very anti-hero just like the OP is thinking about so getting my Ur on would be able to happen much earlier.

    Why are Apes size Large?

Apes have longer arms that give them reach? Ummm.. I got nothing. How big are the bases on ape miniatures?

Alienist (from Complete Arcane) - worth it ?

Gatekeepers would be more actively interested in you than kalashtar. The kalashtar would want to slap you down for being naughty, but the Dreaming Dark would be just as against you as the renegades would be since you would be fermenting chaos and aiding the forces of Xoriat. The Quori want...
