Sounds like it’s a similar book to Level Up’s Trials & Treasure which has journey rules they say were inspired by The One Ring. Two awesome books which expand the exploration pillar. Win win!

40-90 can't be average. That's a range of greater than the lower value. It's such a wide range as to be meaningless. You nmight as well say "the average student scored 0-100% in the test". The average is in the region of 75.

The stuff derived from the SRD doesn't belong to the BBC, and can't -- it's OGC by definition, using licensed content owned by WotC. They can declare product identity like character and creature names and fluff text and stuff (like WotC does), but the actual rules part can't be.

From what I understand from what they themselves said on the podcast, that work was limited to rewording some SRD spells. They had 'lead designers' and 'general designers' and the former did the design work. PJ Coffey was one of the latter. Not to disparage the work at all. It's all important...

You went there, not me. You implied that the games nominated were not the best games of the year, just a list of indie games. I was wondering, how do you know? They might not be the best games (I certainly don't know), but without reading them I'd feel pretty presumptive to say so.
