    Literally nobody involved is presenting it that way. People had just built this Edition War style narrative and were overlaying it onto reality.

    It's really weird: CR and Darrington haven't tried to present themselves as being in combative competition with D&D, their positioning has been positive and about having a cool new game to share. Not the only game.

    The Paionics UA had a boatload of Psionic Feats called "Wild Talents," and the UA said each "Wild Talent" would be the core for a new Background. Easy to see Dark Sun on that, too.

    I mean, if WotC were smart they would have made some sort of IP sharing deal to allow for Vecnato beVecnain the upcoming Vox Machina campaign... I doubt this move has any impact wither way on the long term viability of Daggerheart.
