Cosmere RPG Gets Physical Release Date

It has the benefit of being less obtuse than the FFG funny dice, and being just a d6, but I get it.

    Does Anyone Care? (Cosmere RPG)

Honestly, Sanderson bent over backwards to help the Wheel of Time TV show with the WoT fandom.

    Does Anyone Care? (Cosmere RPG)

Yes, I would say so: the next series Sanderson is working on, the Ghistblood trilogy, is actually going to be a 1980s tech level secondary world fa easy with a cold war and computers plus magic, and eventually he plans to do a Cyberpunk Fantasy sequel series too.

    Does Anyone Care? (Cosmere RPG)

Plotweaver RPG will probably mostly serve to allow DMs to weave Elf Wizards, Dwarven Clerics, computer hackers, and non-IP infringing Jedi into their campaigns. It might back it's way into being a new standard for Superhero genre RPGing, since it sounds like the "advanced" paths for the Modern...

    Does Anyone Care? (Cosmere RPG)

Haven't had the chance to run it yet (I want them physical stuff to run it, just studying the books so far). So, yes, completely non-combst oriented characters, like a merchant or a scientist, instead exist in these rules and contribute, largely because the game has types of "Scenes" outside of...

    Does Anyone Care? (Cosmere RPG)

I'm not even bor3d with older games like D&D or Call of Cthulu, bit I am uniquely excited d y what this game is bringing to the table.

    Does Anyone Care? (Cosmere RPG)

I dig how you are feeling...and I'm not even tired of 5E D&D or generic High Fantasy tropes, bit I do love this Setting and think what they are offering here for ghe rules is the first really interesting alternative to D&D I've seen yet. Too many other alternatives, for me, lean away from what...

    Does Anyone Care? (Cosmere RPG)

There are Neo-Platonist elements to the Cosmere as a whole, and the stormlight Archives does dive into it a bit more...directly. The Attributes in the game divide into Phyiscal, Cognitive, and Spiritual pairs (Strenth and Speed which generate Health Points, Intelligence and Willpower...

The Psionics UA, particularly them talking about the 10 Wild Talent Backgrounds and what those might look like.

D&D 5E (2024) When are we getting announcements for 2026 books?

Actually, Dragone Delves does provide 3 ways to do it! I wouldn't say they are all that things, considering the "competition" there.

D&D 5E (2024) When are we getting announcements for 2026 books?

It's a tough balance, since they are trying to provide a little bit of something for DMs to build a coherent campaign out of what are disparate modules, but they can't make it too strong or it would make it a little more difficult to repurpose.

D&D 5E (2024) When are we getting announcements for 2026 books?

Radiant Citadel stuff was all on other worlds, but two Candlekeep Mysteries remain in Candlekeep proper. Aside from Yawning Portal, which was about nothing burger joke of a link because they were anticipating the Wayerdeep film from Warner Bros that fell through (hence also everything in the...

D&D 5E (2024) When are we getting announcements for 2026 books?

Yeah, not including the Essentials Kit material was an odd decision. For my money, the obvious move would have been to actually develop what the Forge of Spells, where it came from, Who wants to use it, etc. I actually like gje subsequent Dungeons in the Shattered Obelisk as just gameplay...

D&D 5E (2024) When are we getting announcements for 2026 books?

Not an exact replacement, but if in practice they help people play more games...they might be a pragmatic replacement for an AP. These are more robust than seeds, they are basically ready to run.

D&D 5E (2024) When are we getting announcements for 2026 books?

Quests From the Infinite Staircase did an excellent job at that, IMO, and with the same product lead as Borderlands coming up.

D&D 5E (2024) When are we getting announcements for 2026 books?

Thing is. This approach allows them to squeeze a lot of material into non-Adventure DM products.

D&D 5E (2024) When are we getting announcements for 2026 books?

Maybe, but the new Forgotten Realms DM book having 51 mini Adventures (plus a "normal" more detailed 1-3 Adventure) is big bang for the buck...that comes out to 5 APs in one book, in terms of actual play potential. I do agree that Perkins had an all-time run for longer form Adventures in the...

    Does Anyone Care? (Cosmere RPG)

Agreed, but to divert that back on to topic... The Cosmere books do take philosophy quote seriously, in fact the central struggle of the Stormlight Archives so far is over whether the ends justify the means, if ethics is about results or about the process of trying to be a better person...
