    D&D 5E (2014) Hero’s of the Borderlands unboxing, spoilers.

Flipped through the video, stuff look gorgeous: anything particularly of interest to note in terms of changes to the module portion compared to B2?

Exactly, and I think that is quite typical.

Wizards of the Coast Head Explains Benefits to D&D Franchise Model

I think effectively that Archetype is already running as the "Exodus Franchise" team. If Exodus takes off, no doubt that will continue.

D&D General WotC: 'Of Course We're Going To Do' Baldur's Gate 4

Yeah, I do largely agree, but with third parties they did, at least, have mixed results: they had Seord Coast Legends, but also BG3...and basically the same decision makers st WotC were involved with both of those. WotC video game initiatives are still a big question block: hiring a large...

Baaed on how Paramount seems to handle other things, that's optimistic.

Yeah, they make money by licensing it out, and their audience is not, by and large, in conventions.

Wizards of the Coast Head Explains Benefits to D&D Franchise Model

Icewijd Dale.was the last big splash integrated campaign, and the pseudo-cancelled live event (the game table.portion went to streaming, but no show) for that was the last hurrah of that particular era of live engagement. Nothing like what they did for Tomb of Annihlation or Waterdeep for latter...

Ben Riggs: 'The Golden Age of TTRPGs is Dead'

So, based.om the data collected by our host, the first million dollar Kickstarter was only 9 years ago. Since Covid, the number of large TTRPG Kockstsrters has increased sharply, and there are many, many more that make a more modest but successful run. The number and variety of TTRPGs beong...

Ben Riggs: 'The Golden Age of TTRPGs is Dead'

True, but is there hard data on any up and down for cons, other than the Covid collapse era?

Yet it is a symbiotic relationship: people spend money on their hobbies, which generates industry.

Ben Riggs: 'The Golden Age of TTRPGs is Dead'

I mean, no, but we do know something around 6 million new characters created a year. It is really a pretty simple leap to "concept tion going gamers are a small fraction of the number of active Beyond users". That, and WotC folks have routinely pointed out that most players of D&D and Magic...

D&D General Take A Look At The Class Boards From The New D&D Starter Set

I think the Stranger Thinfs set has 80s retro style character sheets with oregens on them.

Yes, the number of people engaging with Bryond is a much better metric if activity than conventio numbers.

Earlier this year, when they announced this, Mike Mearls had said this about the change:

But they may or may not want to spend the coin to do so. And I'm not sure Sony or Paramount would be an improvement for the D&D game.

Wizards of the Coast Head Explains Benefits to D&D Franchise Model

Right, what I'm saying is that it wouldn't ever be sold separately, it's part of the package portfolio of Hasbro: the only way a company other than Hasbro gets control of D&D, they have to buy all of Hasbro, so only a company like Disney that might want some more.IP and some vertical integration...

D&D General Reasons I Love the Dalelands as a Campaign Location

I mean, Ed Greenwood was always extremely supportive of people using other areas, and eager to provide more hooks for that...but you can really tell when reviewing the early FR products, as I did for the first time the last couple of years, where the actual campaigns had been prepped and played.

D&D General Reasons I Love the Dalelands as a Campaign Location

Juat about the only thing we do know for certain about the Dalelands section of the new book is that it is being positioned in-universe aa being narrated by Alias, and we saw some key art with Alias (wearing more...modern...chainmail) and Dragonbait. So they are definotelgoijg for some deep cuts...
