D&D General Campaign Setting Contest: Should We Do It Again?

Not need for such defensive, insulting hysteria; I just don't need to like what you like, and vice versa, which is, okay. *said like Stuart Smalley*

D&D General Campaign Setting Contest: Should We Do It Again?

I appreciate the effort, have heard of all this before, thanks, but does not persuade.

    Pathfinder 2E PF2e House Rules:

Yes, they had a pretty odd general DC table in the playtest, I have not had a chance to delve into that yet, but I believe they cleaned it up, big time.

    Pathfinder 2E PF2e House Rules:

DCs for monster abilities/spells. Yeah, the actions for monster are not up yet, but check out the playtest bestiary, and play around with removing level from all that applies (it's fun), though 1st level monsters are totally out of whack (attacks, skills, etc).

    D&D General Biggest DM regret

Gotcha, I thought you meant an actual insta-kill rule, like Death from Massive Damage. I have no problem with the standard drop at - HP Max rule, though for a wizard with a low Con, it's a bit rough (dying at -6).

D&D General Campaign Setting Contest: Should We Do It Again?

Let me preface with: These are my opinions/experiences, nothing more, I am not saying I am right. Quite a few reasons (these are just off the top of my head). -Seems a bit adolescent (like concepts that my 14-year old buddy would have come up with back in the day, dinosaur riding halflings...

    Pathfinder 2E PF2e House Rules:

That part is easy, just remove level from everything that it applies to for characters and monsters, and that's it. It also helps to figure out (deconstruct) what proficiency (Trained, Master, etc) a monster has in a given area (weapon attack, fort save, etc).

D&D General Campaign Setting Contest: Should We Do It Again?

I hope not, as I would like attention paid to other existing settings, and I detest Eberron.

Ah, do you mean the rule where you die if you take enough damage to reach negative your hit point max?

    D&D General Biggest DM regret

The OP did not mention use of the death by massive damage variant.

    PF2 and the adventure day

Not necessarily, there can be plenty of fighting and seeking out combat in Basic/AD&D.

    PF2 and the adventure day

Yes, Logan Bonner has obviously had a big impact on PF2.

    D&D General Biggest DM regret

You didn't do anything wrong, but I can see how you would feel empathy for the crestfallen player. This is a tough one, do you go into fudging territory, and we know how those debates go...

Pathfinder 2E Lets Read and Review Pathfinder 2E

That's not how level 1 hit points work in 4th Ed, it's a set value from your class (4, 5, 6, or 7) + your Con score. Though 4th Ed and PF2 both boost 1st level hit points compared to 3rd and 5th Ed. In the first D&D Next playtest, you got 1st level hit points = max hit points from 1 class hit...

Pathfinder 2E Pathfinder 2 Core Layout

Yes, I find it byzantine, and maybe due to my eye condition, I find it very unpleasant on the eye; dislike the colour coding, the fonts are unattractive, detest the icons. I have a hard time telling the difference between the 2 and 3 action icon at a glance. I mentioned all of this in the surveys.

    Pathfinder 2E PF2e House Rules:

Well, a peasant would be Untrained in a lot, so that would be +0, but going with + 1/2 level, or +1/4 level, or even +2 x level all work (I've tried them all in the last year) as well.

D&D 5E (2014) Tweaking Reliable Talent and comparing it with Indomitable

Ha, obviously not, as I mentioned getting a fixed 1/2 proficiency bonus; Indomitable is cool, but not what I was talking about (something static). I do think it's odd the Fighter gets nothing at 5th level, beyond Extra Attack, but the Barbarian, Paladin, and Ranger, do.

Omission of +Level; tried it during the playtest, really worked for us.
