D&D 5E (2014) Proficiency vs. Ability vs. Expertise

"You don’t need advantage on the attack roll if another enemy of the target is within 5 feet of it, that enemy isn’t incapacitated, and you don’t have disadvantage on the attack roll."

D&D 4E Where was 4e headed before it was canned?

It's pretty telling that the two biggest edition warriors of all time are active in this thread; I mean, since 2008, and when the WotC forums melted in 2015, some came to roost here, unfortunately.

D&D 4E Where was 4e headed before it was canned?

Non-Grandma friendly terminology removed. You might want to rethink your rhetoric.

D&D 4E Where was 4e headed before it was canned?

Don't bother, man; when you know the deal is crap.

D&D 4E Where was 4e headed before it was canned?

Pay no attention to the above edition warring rhetoric. It is part of a Cold War that has been waged since 2012: vs. 5th Ed; right.

D&D General What’s the weirdest mount you’ve ever employed in-game?

Cool, we don't have to agree. Our cat would not be fooled.

D&D 5E (2014) Tweaking 5E: Your knobs, dials and switches.

D&D 5E (2014) What spell have you never seen cast?

Yeah, inadequate ones, with no set integrity for the campaign.

D&D 4E Where was 4e headed before it was canned?

D&D General What’s the weirdest mount you’ve ever employed in-game?

D&D 5E (2014) What spell have you never seen cast?

Ah, so maybe an extra sentence to clarify would've gone a long way (in general spellcasting). Hoping to fail a saving throw so things go your way seems wrong.

D&D 5E (2014) What spell have you never seen cast?

Wow, has SA ruled that you cannot voluntarily fail a saving throw?

D&D 5E (2014) Proficiency vs. Ability vs. Expertise

We like it, do not dig Rogues getting advantage at hundreds of feet out simply because your buddy is loitering round the target.

D&D 4E Where was 4e headed before it was canned?

4th Ed seemed to have cut off the head to cure the headache, much as PF2 has seemed to have done.

D&D 5E (2014) Tweaking 5E: Your knobs, dials and switches.

Hit Points Your hit point maximum increases by at least 1 when gaining a level, regardless of any modifiers or roll. When rolling for hit points, if you are unhappy with the result, you can take average (round up). Variant I Hit Points at 1st Level: 1.5 x X (X = standard class value) +...

D&D 5E (2014) Tweaking 5E: Your knobs, dials and switches.

Ability Score Generation Methods Method I You start with a 3 in all six ability scores. Roll 2d6 six times, and assign each roll to one ability score as desired (one roll assigned to each score). This starts you with a beginning score of 5 - 15, and an average score of 10. Method II You start...

D&D 5E (2014) Tweaking 5E: Your knobs, dials and switches.

Variant: Nonhuman Feats When you choose a nonhuman race, instead of gaining any Ability Score Increases, you can choose a feat.

D&D 5E (2014) What spell have you never seen cast?

After over 30-years of DMing/playing, I have probably yet to see a 9th-level (even 8th?) spell cast in front of me (save 4th Ed).
