    Netbook projects

First of all, I had never heard of FanCC before this topic, and had to look it up myself since there were no links. Second, the Netbook of Planes site seems to be down. But for me, here's the thing. With a professional product, the various classes tend to be tested for balance and compared...

[Contest, ENPub] Elements of Magic review contest - now over

To be honest, without having read it, I'd guess it probably is a good book. I don't think the reviews will change that. The basic problem was, that by putting a deadline and offering a prize on a first-come, first-serve basis, the reviews are probably biased upwards a bit. That being said, I...

Is the Unearthed Arcana SRD online?

However, it is not a license considering there is already an existing license in effect that is not bound by any new license. Unless I explictly gave up my right to use OGC, the yes/no comment is merely politeness on my part. It is above and beyond the actual license and has no bearing on...

Is the Unearthed Arcana SRD online?

I really want this part of the topic to be dead, but I'll give one last reply. With many of the game publishers, they do 100% OGC which is the metaphorical equivilant of a blank cheque. The intended use is for it to be used to aid in the creation of of other products, but much like an actual...

Is the Unearthed Arcana SRD online?

To be entirely fair though, with current OCR software, you don't really need more than one person per product, especially if we devised a standard template.

Is the Unearthed Arcana SRD online?

No, the whole point is that I don't need to ask for permission, not that I shouldn't. Just like I don't need to hold the door open for people. but I'm able to do that too. Moreover, it is nothing at all like a new license. It's a simple request with a yes/no answer. Once given, no negotiation...

Is the Unearthed Arcana SRD online?

Which isn't what we're talking about. The point was that no one has bothered ripping full OGC from any 3rd party books. Doing that is much harder than simply scanning it. Speaking of which, what about contacting 3rd party companies and getting their blessing about ripping OGC from their OOP...

[Contest, ENPub] Elements of Magic review contest - now over

In terms of complimentary copies, I get that. The reward for reviewing though just reminds me of the Pepsi challenge. 8 of 10 people prefer Pepsi, but Coke wins in the sales. As for buying it then reviewing it, my writing skills just aren't sharp enough lately.

[Contest, ENPub] Elements of Magic review contest - now over

While I am considering purchasing this, I now intend to wait for a few more reviews. Personally I'm of the impression that by offering a contest for reviewers, it may have biased them. Until I can see an unbiased review, I'm holding off buying it.

    Psion reviews Modern Backdrops

Plus, unlike the D&D board, this one is fairly slow. Less reason to complain.

Tome of Horrors 2 sold out

Oh please, please don't make it only available as a book. I specifically bought it less than a month ago because you said on the Necromancer boards it was going to have a free web update to 3.5. I love the book, but I really don't feel like paying for it twice.

    d20 Books in July

After checking with FFG, here's the info they sent me on the Essential Collection: The DS Essential Collection will contain: * Starfarer's Handbook (hc, 176pp.) * Guide to the Galaxy (hc, 176pp.) * Imperial Supply (sc, 124pp.) * Player's Companion (sc, 124 pp.) * Smuggler's...

    Free D20 Modern Counter Sites

Seriously? What sites? :heh: But really...the site I listed with the vehicles, after looking more closely I'm pretty sure at least a few are from Polyhedron's Thunderball Rally. Makes me even closer to shelling out cash for counters, because at least then I'm supporting an original product.

    Free D20 Modern Counter Sites

While the superheroes and vehicles don't interest me, the animals, monsters and aliens have a far greater appeal. I'll definately have to check it out. Don't know and don't really care that much either I'm afraid. I believe the art was obtained from the WotC website, but I don't really know...

    Twist my Plot. Please!

When the material plane soul dies, it goes to a new plane, awaiting reincarnation. Apon being reincarnated, all the echoes die.The only way this won't happen is if one echo becomes strong enough to be more 'real' than the orginal. In which case it can ascend to the plane (which only allows...

    D&D 3.x 3.5 Monster books

FF is almost purely 3.5. Only very minor changes need to be made. But for both books, the needed changes are posted in a pdf document on WotC's site.

Fun or a Headache? You tell me!

No, no, the trick is to be the dog from monopoly. You can only walk in circles, carry large amounts of money, and at least at the start of the game, can buy any property you end up on. So you buy whatever property you're on, and when a bugbear moves on it to attack you, if it can't afford the...

Is the Unearthed Arcana SRD online?

After reading through the license again, I thought I'd throw in another post. Two little points. 1.) Due to it's trademarked nature, the online OGC could not be called the Unearthed Arcana SRD. Unearthed Arcana is a registered trademark of WotC and not OGC. 2.) More importantly, so it can't...

    d20 Books in July

What format will these be in? Recieving 5 books for $30 seems pretty amazing, but it also seems unlikely. Also, any idea if they're updated to 3.5?
