If you look at the Centaur in the MM2 they do not use Larger weapons. They use normal Medium sized weapons. And if your DM is stupid enough to allow you to even try and ride another creature as a Centaur then he is getting what he deserves.

Not likely. When speaking about why the Githyanki were not included in PHB 3 the devs spoke about not wanting to do PC write ups for more evil races. Thats just paraphrasing but its the gist of their comments.

Without the feat any attacks you make or the mount makes are at -2. Plus no matter what you and the mount share 1 pool of actions.

Not that I am aware of. Small creatures are not allowed to use two-handed weapons, and must use Versatile weapons two-handed minus the benefit. There are a couple of exceptions in the Eberron Players guide but thats it.

As a small character he has to wield it two-handed and gains no benefit from doing so. He can not wield it one handed.
