I know its just my opinion but I feel that the AL Admins are working harder to save the integrity of what has become a "sacred cow" of Story Origins, than they are to get SCAG in as an evergreen option, minus a few items to keep the continuity (no pc racial flight etc). Just my opinion though...

You are assuming that SCAG is not going to be considered a CORE Players resource in AL.

Actually I would think it would be better to ignore the need to choose an alignment but make it mandatory to choose a Faction. And have the factions goals/needs be what drives the characters in game.
