    PS3 v. X-Box 360: Which Is 'Net Ready?

The PS3 also has a built in browser. I've used it to surf around a bit, but its a lot easier for me to do that on the PC; of course I haven't tried bluetooth keyboard or mouse and that would probably make a huge difference.

    Iterative Attacks

Here's an extremely top-of-my-head idea that intrigues me, but I haven't remotely thought through the consequences. It kind of ties into the Trailblazer idea of Combat Reactions. I was thinking of how 1E handled multiple attacks - if you had multiples attacks, you got your first one, and then...

    Gencon 2009 Indy

I'm hoping to go. Should be able to, bar any unforeseen disasters ro expenses. There's an outside chance I may be house shopping this summer, and if so GenCon would probably get axed on my agenda, but that's all dependent on a lot of things between now and then.

    Making a God of Fear...

I'd work on a myth of how BOB came to be the god of fear. Perhaps he was the runt of the god-litter, always fearful himself. The gods divvied up powers based on their individual proclivities, and while other gods may haev been strong and forceful, and get plum assignments like God of War, BOB...

    Poll of Polls

Oh, and about there being "no appealing options" in the poll? I kinda think that was the point...

    Iterative Attacks

Yes, this seems like a very good way of handling it. One question - how do you handle two-weapon fighters in this case? A ranger with six attacks (3 with each hand)?

    "It's a joke name, sir."

Incidentally, Edward Rapide had another thing that makes him reknowned in that campaign - in his very first (full) session, the party got ambushed and Edward got ready to cast his first ever spell - only to get knocked down to negative HP by the archers hiding in the trees who had been...

Heya, Fast Eddie! :) Welcome to ENWorld!

    I'm bored with it all.

I've had success with putting the PC's in a situation where fighting is a really bad idea, and where talking might get them some useful info on their enemy so that later on they can beat them up. The most recent that comes to mind was a dinner invite where someone the PC's knew was up to no...

    Music for Cyberpunk 2020/Shadowrun

The recent Nine Inch Nails insturmental release, Ghosts I-IV, seems like it would be ideal. Much as I like things like Operation Mindcrime, I prefer few lyrics in my gaming music. I would also (as neuronphaser points out) use different music for different locations to set the scene. NiN would...

    What do you eat/drink?

So what you're saying is, where your PC's come from they satisfy all their needs with sheep?

    What do you eat/drink?

You need to have one island where everything the PC's order is some version or other of spiced ham.

    The Opposite of Rail-roading

Another thing that they might need is guidance on context. I'll occasionally chime into PC discussions when they start talking about thigns that are outside the normal parameters of how things normally work - noting that something one player mentions would probably be looked on by a particular...

    Station Squatting (Player Railroading)

The DM has a responsibility here as well. I think that before any campaign starts, the DM and players should discuss what kind of game and the parameters of the game. I typically engage my players in discussion in order to get an idea of what they want out of the game, and to give them options.

Where Has All the Magic Gone?

Lots of good comments here - I'm still playing 3.5 and I think that 4E did some nifty things with magic items. I'm surprised that not everyone loved the Magic Item Compendium, 'cause everyone in my gaming groups thinks its the best thing ever. It reintroduced a lot of items that could do lots...

December '08: What are you playing?

I just picked up Prince of Persia, and have recenly finished both Mirrors Edge and Fallout 3. Mirrors Edge is nifty, but short and frustrating in some ways. I'm also getting back into Civ 4 a little bit.

Social Dynamics and Change In The Campaign

One of my ideas for my next campaign is to make it a primarily Urban campaign, set in one big city. There would be excursions to other places, but I would keep them short. That way, all of the PC's change-creation would be concentrated in one small area, and thus more noticeable. I've used...

Social Dynamics and Change In The Campaign

I like that, Drunkonduty. There are two things that I am doing in my games to emulate this, SHARK. First, I'm planning on advancing the timeline of my campaign world for my next campaign - 50 years or so ought to do it. The efforts of my current players will determine a lot of things in the...
