So, if a dragon swallows someone carrying a lot of potions....

I like your idea! Imagine the players, having just defeated a dragon, cutting it's belly open, the treasure pouring out! Great! But about the standard action, I don't like using it as a requirement! As long as the potion is quaffed, I don't think it would matter! If a player of mine created...

[Hivemind] The things you can see on the road!

I know! But I have to join the topic somehow, and confusion always works! :D My handle! Well, It used to be Titius (my first char ever!) but people kept misspelling it as "Titus", without the second "i"! So I just switched to the name of my current character at that time, Arthur Tealeaf, and...

So, if a dragon swallows someone carrying a lot of potions....

But how would you rule then? Would the potions come out the other end? Wouldn't they be digested? I don't understand how you can get around the fact that the potions in fact have been swallowed by a creature that can digest solid rock! And to comment on b), the dragon doesn't have to use an...

    This is a Rant [Meta-thread]

I skim the first post in the thread, and ignoring all previous replies, poorly argues something that has already been resolved in some previous post, and is completely ignored by all other posters. ps. I never bother to check if there has been any replies to my argument either.

So, if a dragon swallows someone carrying a lot of potions....

But they aren't drugs, They are spells! Would that mean 5 clerics could "shock" someone by simultaniously casting 5 cure serious wounds spells on them? Great idea by the way, with the wristlet...

So, if a dragon swallows someone carrying a lot of potions....

But when the character is dead and being swallowed... are the potions still attended? And still...no matter how attended the potions are, they still end up in the dragons belly in the end! And about those cans of worms... Well, I can't really disagree. You have some good points there! But...

But that action just represents the time and movement required to pour the liquid down ones throat! The spell is in the liquid, not in the unstoppering of the vial and the quaffering of the potion!

So, if a dragon swallows someone carrying a lot of potions....

But you don't use a Ring of Invisibility or cloak of displacement by swallowing them! And the glass would probably be digested by the dragon, so the liquid would end up in it's stomach!

So, if a dragon swallows someone carrying a lot of potions....

From the SRD: "A character can carefully administer a potion to an unconscious creature as a full-round action, trickling the liquid down the creature's throat. Likewise, it takes a full-round action to apply an oil to an unconscious creature. " Seems like you don't have to be conscious after...

So, if a dragon swallows someone carrying a lot of potions....

Yes, but isn't dragon tissue a bit tougher than for example human tissue? Also, in proportion, aren't those shards kind of tiny for a Great Wyrm...? And I just thought of something! Dragons like to eat knights... Knights wear armor and carry swords! Ouch...

So, if a dragon swallows someone carrying a lot of potions....

Wouldn't you think a dragon would be tough enough to ignore that? Or at least take only a feeble amount of damage from it... Anyways, if the shattered potion was a healing one, wouldn't the wounds be healed at once?

So, if a dragon swallows someone carrying a lot of potions....

Yes, but if you mix three potions it would be thrice as much liquid and take about three times as long to drink... But still, you have a point there...

Mysterious Map, or, help me brainstorm please!

I think the ancient lighthouse should play a part in the whole thing! Maybe the "X" isn't enough, maybe they have to use the lighthouse in some way to be able to find the treasure... Or maybe something prevents them from getting at the treasure, and the lighthouse is needed to overcome that...

You have a point, but wouldn't the vials take crushing damage in the dragons throat? Arrrgh! Edit: I always forget to uncheck the damn signature box!

So, if a dragon swallows someone carrying a lot of potions....

I don't really think you can treat potions like magic items in that respect, because as I understand it, when you drink it, a spell affects you, just as if you used a wondrous item or a wand to cast the spell! It would be a big assumption to make (that you can only be affected by two potions at...

So, if a dragon swallows someone carrying a lot of potions....

Why should that matter? In that case, should a Large character or NPC gain reduced benefits from potions? IIRC/IMO, potions have spells imbued in them that will affect on the imbiber when the ENTIRE potion is consumed, this means the dragon should gain the benefits, because the spells in...

So, if a dragon swallows someone carrying a lot of potions....

....wouldn't it be logical to assume the dragon gains the benefit of those potions? After all, he/she has consumed them, kind of...
