The Cask of Winter -4 July-

Excellent update. And real cliff-hanger ending ... don't keep us waiting too long! :D

The Golden Key: From the Casebook of Nigel Spenser (Updated 9/16)

Nice start to the new adventure. Looking forward to how this unfolds. Crikey, I should say so!! 500 pounds would have a been a decent annual wage in (RL) Victorian England, never mind a weekly wage. :D Seriously, I understand the simplicity of not trying to replicate real costs/income, and...

The Cask of Winter -4 July-

Cool update, as ever, ForceUser. And I'm guessing that Frostmourne being (re?)united with the Sleeper (whatever that is) ain't going to be good news for the PCs .... :D

Tirlanolir/D'nemy's Tales of Turgos: The Heroes of Goldfire Glen (UPDATE 7/26)

Ow! That is seriously not good ... Which is great fun for us of course!! :p

    A question about medieval society

Which - if they're only showing significant urban locations - is not unrealistic. You're right, I think, that many areas would have a lot of very small hamlets/villages with some larger market towns spaced only a few miles apart. But there would be large areas without any sign of a larger...

The Chronicle of Burne, and Some Others of Lesser Importance *Updated May 17th, 2009*

It's not just rats you know ... It is a well known fact that wandering monsters do not in fact "wander". They are in fact spontaneous manifestations of the universe's (understandable) antipathy towards adventurers. :p

In the Valus - The Heroes of Marchford (Chapter 14 Continues - 12/24/08)

Don't worry, a few more years and it'll be so much the norm that you won't be able to remember not being brain-dead. That's my excuse, anyway. I can't always have been like this ... can I? :\

The Chronicle of Burne, and Some Others of Lesser Importance *Updated May 17th, 2009*

I'm also loving the change of narrative voice (although I will certainly welcome the return of Burne as narrator, too). It's definitely interesting to see another perspective on the party. And who can argue with naming them the Crazy Bastards ... :p

Anka Seth - The Rise of the Hydra (New Update April 19, 2007)

Just to be clear, I wasn't intending to crticiise your choice in any way, Fiasco. Just that the majority of groups I've seen tend to be of the "kill first, and do deals later" variety!

In the Valus - The Heroes of Marchford (Chapter 14 Continues - 12/24/08)

Sounds like good reasons, both IC and OOC. ;)

    inspirations for D&D

in addition to the above: James Branch Cabell's "Poictesme" novels Clark Ashton Smith, especially the Averoigne, Xothique and Atlantis stories

In the Valus - The Heroes of Marchford (Chapter 14 Continues - 12/24/08)

Well, that certainly was a surprise!! What was the (OOC) reason? Player leaving the game? Or wanting to switch PCs?

Anka Seth - The Rise of the Hydra (New Update April 19, 2007)

Bit surprised they didn't just string him up when he refused to talk! Still, let's hope our heroes don't regret this too much ...

Tirlanolir/D'nemy's Tales of Turgos: The Heroes of Goldfire Glen (UPDATE 7/26)

Excellent update. And extra congratulations if the rhyming exchange was genuinely RP'd "live" (even if it did rather remind me of a particularly bad Rupert Bear episode). :D

In the Valus - The Heroes of Marchford (Chapter 14 Continues - 12/24/08)

Very good update indeed, Funeris. One of your best, I'd say - good, clean writing, nice interaction between the characters, and a nice, grim mystery at the end. I particularly liked: Gotta wonder about those wizard types. Always walking around in dresses ... :p Anyway, looking forward to...
