What would you do... (warning, touchy subject) - Updated

I have to agree with Umbran and Thornir Alekeg, don't blame the cops. A friend at work just went through the same problem with her ex and the judge ruled that there was not enough evidence to prove abuse. As long as the bruises are only in the area where corporal punishment would be...

What else is going to go wrong this week?

OK, why is that when I think of Teletubbies making burbling noises, it just means they're going to have to be cleaned up and changed? -Dave :)

At work - need to vent

Yup, I don't mind admitting my mistakes and accepting the consequences (it gets easier because I have had lots of practice), but it really cheeses me off when people at work blame me for stuff I have no control over. Since I very rarely have any contact with executives, vendors or customers, I...

Cholesterol - The Bell Tolls For Me

Cholesterol is one of those indicators of potential future problems, like an early warning. It's good because it gives you time to make changes if you need to. Mythusmage is correct, a lot of it is hereditary. One of my friends at works eats right and works out hard every day and her cholesterol...

    Playing Hooky ROCKS!

Tired. Party last night that ran past two, was too hyped up to sleep much, went in and worked until six, then worked out. Cooling down now before hitting the shower. Party was so good, and everyone had such a great time, that the host is already planning another one or two in the next six weeks...

I'm so totally chillin' right now. How about you?

My weekend has been pretty good so far. Went to a party at a firend's house last night which was a great time. My best friend got more drunk than she had intended, so I had to keep an eye on her all night, but I made some cool new friends and got invited to an interesting party next month that...

    Happy B'day to Me...

Hey give Old One a break, 43 isn't old at all! Happy belated birthday Old One, welcome to 43. :) I'm enjoying this year quite a bit and, based upon your great-sounding vacation, I hope you are too. -Dave (older than the Old One, if only by a few months)

    5000th post!

I would have liked it better if that couldn't be ineterpreted in multiple ways... ;) Unless you meant it that way, in which I feel compelled to point out that I was replying to reveal, not rel. Please try to keep the permutations of my fictional love life in line. :p

What else is going to go wrong this week?

Yeah, I think sooner or later we all have a week like that Rich. I'm just sorry it had to happen to such a good guy. So, take the offensive. Wear the Green Converse tomorrow. There's no way anything bad could happen then! -Dave

    5000th post!

Man, I thought we decided we weren't going to talk about that here! There are just so many places where this applies. So why do I think of all the dirty ones first? :p -Dave

I'm so totally chillin' right now. How about you?

Well, my Friday was somewhat downbeat. It feels like I'm as far behind at work as I've ever been, and I'm quite fatigued at the moment. On the upside, my best friends are hosting a bonfire in their back yard tomorrow night, which should be fun and might possibly be even more fun. :) Plus, I've...

    Rate D1-16: Dragonlance

I disagree. OK? Good. I gave it a three. It was the least-favorite series of adventures I have ever DMed, and none of my players had read any of the books. It had some cool ideas, but it just wasn't any fun. -Dave

    Your Gas Price

Well, I drove to visit my daughter last weekend. On the 600 mile journey between nowrthwestern Pennsylvania and southern Virginia Friday, prices seemed to be mostly between $2.999 and $3.299 per gallon. On the same trip back Saturday night/Sunday morning it seemed to be $2.899 pretty much...

    I'm Sad

Robert, I am so sorry to hear about your loss. As you probably know already, grief can only be dealt with on an individual basis and on its own timetable; we cannot control how long or how deeply we will feel it. The best we can do is believe and hope that grief and grief-related depression will...

My Father has went into surgery for Triple Bypass Surgery

My best wishes go out to you Michael and your father and family. I know how difficult such times can be, my mother was in the hospital a couple of weeks ago for major (but luckily non-life-threatening) surgery and had a mnor heart attack in April. I'll be sure to keep you in my thoughts. -Dave

    [Sept] What Are You Reading?

Haggard is good stuff. I visited my daughter this weekend, so with 20 hours of driving I was able to 'read' three audiobooks. First up was Mr. Paradise by Elmore Leonard, which I rather enjoyed. Next was The Funny Thing Is... by Ellen Degeneres, which was also very good. Last up was 17 Lies...
