    I have Heroes of Shadows

Someone EXP Walter for me? I gotta spread rep. Other than the Ki and Holy implement, are there any particular "stand out" feats? Let's be frank: are there any feats that will allow me to sparkle? *crosses finger*

Robert J. Schwalb Blog Discussion; Feats: Do We need them?

Feats are awesome! Feat bloat isn't. But it is inevitable. Invalidating Feats (IE removing them from the game/compendium, never to be updated or errata'd)? Well, the schism that would create in your average, paranoid WotC could cause revolts (or just endless whiny-### threads forever about...

    Essentials Multiclass/Interop Rules in April

I understand the desire to put dailies on a thief or slayer (in turn for giving up one of their simplistic +1 to hit or damage class feature). I personally don't have that desire. I made a thief to get away from dailies I never used. I'm all for more options though and these feats probably...

    Class Compendium: The Warlord (Marshal)

Erm...equally? If players came down on everything equally, WotC would have cut their losses on this book and sent it to print just for the half that would support it. Because that's what would have happened with every other book. Certain things are just going to fair better than others. While I...

    Heroes of Shadow's Feat Preview

As always Klaus I'm really appreciative to hear from you and get your input on the design of the particular element (class, feat, item etc). I know we can sound harsh on here (it IS the internet), so I give you a lot of credit.

    Heroes of Shadow's Feat Preview

Actually, the Executioner can add his Ki enhancement to his ranged poisons attacks. The Vampire also likely uses the Ki implement. The Vampire level 1 daily, Swarm of Shadows that was previewed has the implement keyword. I highly doubt it's anything other than a Ki focus (though it could be...

    Heroes of Shadow's Feat Preview

I guess you can't talk too much about your work on the book and I hope you can after it's release, but I'm really curious as to what limitations you had. A lot of feats seem highly situational, more situational than they would be useful. In an age where certain feats seem near mandatory ("feat...

    Monk Movement

Snipped from the Compendium. Sourced from PHB3. There is also a restriction to one full discipline per round, unless you use an action point. The explanation is much more robust from the book or the builder. I suggest reading through it (unless you have neither access to PHB3 or Compendium, in...

    Heroes of Shadow's Feat Preview

The HoS Table of contents (PDF download from the first preview) show feats for only pages 156, 157 and 158. With 156 being the categories page (likely the list we view here). I find it hard to believe there could be more than 20 feats on the 2 pages, but that's my assumption.

    Heroes of Shadow's Feat Preview

Dungeons & Dragons Roleplaying Game Official Home Page - Article (Shadows Feats) I believe all the feats in the book are listed there. 20 Feat altogether. 7 Previewed. 3 of the 20 are Revenant (all reprints albeit possibly retooled). Ki Focus Expertise & Holy Symbol Expertise. (One day we'll...

    Design & Development - Necromancy & Nethermancy

I don't play wizards/mages. Likely never will. However, there was an underwhelming "feel" from this. I couldn't quite understand if this was a striker or control build (outside of that one control daily at a tier I've never played in in 2 years, so I couldn't be sure if it's good). However...

    Rule of 3 3/21

Dungeons & Dragons Roleplaying Game Official Home Page - Article (Rule-of-Three: 03/21/2011) The new rule of 3 is up. "Essentials" is tackled again. Twice. The 3rd question is about monster race write ups. Are they good or bad for the game? (Rule of 3 is asking us questions now). Overall...

    Demonomicon: Jubilex

While reading the thread and thinking since I last posted on it. I wish they implemented a voting system on the article. A small one or two questions that can answered with a few clix. Like "On a scale of 1 - 5 how was the art" and do that for fluff and content. Not to derail the thread too...

I had to double check too (and agreed with Solo roles). Solid article overall. I'm hoping this is the material that they have been meaning to get to us.

Need advice making a great thief :)

To further explain. Rogue/Assassin (with Hybrid Talent feat for Cunning Sneak) and a Warlock Multiclass can pick up the Cursed Shadow feat from Dragon 385. It gives you the Warlock classes Shadow Walk feature. It's an investment of 3 feats. But essentially 2 of those are Hybrid Talents. You'd...

did anyone try the heroes of shadow preview at PAX?

That assessment made me laugh. I'm hoping the Executioner in-book comes out a little better too. Not getting my hopes too high seeing as the class just wandered into the book last minute. The rest of the book, and material in it, sounds great.

did anyone try the heroes of shadow preview at PAX?

Save for Spectral Step and Born of Shadow (which could be feats) that Executioner is nearly identical. Makes me a sad panda. What was the point of releasing the whole class in Dragon? I don't mind playtest material, but that's...silly.
